I come back to this shit? Oh well....back to the drawing board and the money is still out there for the getting. Peeking ahead on the schedule to the upcoming games I see a few juicy games most notably, the Sasky vs. Montreal matchup, wherein I see the Greeny Greens doing what they always do at home when facing the Skylarks. Win.

It is a given that the Greens will get points at home in this matchup. I am gonna check on that line with interest. If they are then it's a good thing. The only thing is if Durant is augmenting the passing game with plays on the ground. If he throws picks, then they will get buried if the field is short for Calvillo and company. Sasky is a high risk high reward team, I'm gonna get some of that greeny green. I hear the people in that region live for that team, so for them obviously this is a big game and they will be riled!

Couple points of interest:

• 3 downs, not 4
• 110 yard field, not 100, fields are 15 yards wider
• Uprights are on the goal line, not in the back of the endzone
• A missed FG/punt that lands in the endzone counts for a point called a 'single'

There are probably some others, too, but that's what I've found so far.

Hmm the first two of those sound like they would make the games lower scoring but what do I know lol.

My guess is that the three downs probably encourage more passing than running, since it's hard to get 5 yards per carry. More passing = more opportunities for breakaways. But then again, what do I know.

Hey all, great thread you have started here. I have bet the CFL for years and last year did especially well. I focus on one team in particular and have good inside info on them from time to time. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure.

Here is my take on what accounts for more scoring in the CFL.

One of the biggest differences in the CFL that rarely gets mentioned is the clock rules. A 25 second play clock combined with generous clock rules that extend the last 5 minutes of each half make for more plays per game. I can't find the stat right now but CFL games have several more plays per game than the NFL.

3 downs does encourage more passing and the wider field stretches defences out to enable more offence.

20 yard deep endzones mean that red zone offence in the CFL is not as cramped as in the NFL. You can be on the 5 and still throw a deep timing pattern to the back corner and not run out of space. Those deep endzones are a nightmare for defences to cover.

The goal posts sitting on the goal line also mean the edge of field goal range is now the 45 rather than the 35 in the NFL.

I have my line for my game and as promised Montreal is giving the Saskys 4 points at home. I always love a home dog, and the Regina Roughriders will get the job done with the points. We will get back on track with this play and go straight forward into next week. I have a whole week to watch the line..

Mid week and the line is unchanged and it looks as if the linemaker has equal action on both sides of the fence. Sasky has no significant injuries reported that would hinder their play this weekend. I am really stuck on this game and not too wild about any of the others yet. I may play a total prior to Saturday, but i am still waiting on the numbers to get set in stone

I tend to stay away from a side on a game like this one, but I give the nod to British Columbia to get into the win column for those who would like my opinion on a side.

CK since I don't know much about Canadian football I have to ask this question.
The O/U is at 53.5
Now does the .5 make all that much of a difference? I've read here in the forum about different rules and missed extra points counting as one point etc.
I can't buy points in the CFL for some reason. Is it still a play at 53.5 or not?
