Just out of curiosity, how does the start of this NBA season compare to previous seasons you've run the system? We're right around the quarter poll, and this season is unique. Did other seasons start slower and then gain momentum as the system had a larger sample size to sharpen itself? CBB has been the main course so far, but you are defiantly looking at NBA games more lately.Comment -
Last season in NBA, I wasn't much better than 50/50 overall from October through December with lots of ups and downs. January through the end of the season I consistently hit around 70% and rarely had losing days. Hopefully this year takes a similar path and the plays get stronger as the season progresses, though like you said, this NBA is unique...so who knows if that could lead to more unpredictability or have some kind of detrimental affect on my specific capping style?Originally posted by Cutler'sThumbComment -
Hopefully the model can adapt if it needs to. I think I remember you saying short term trends have significant weight in your formula, and if the rigors of the season start to become evident across the league I would think they would be fairly simple to track statistically. Dead legs probably mean flat shooting and possibly more turnovers. I suppose it could also mean less intense defense as well, so maybe it would cut both ways...
Anyway, if you start hitting 60-70% consistently that would be most excellent.Comment -
