Colorado blew like three different 5-7 point leads in the 2H, then scored 2 points the last 3:43 of regulation (same thing happened to me with the C's last Friday). The 3 at the buzzer in regulation topped it off -- I knew they were done after that. The ironic thing is I had A&M against Texas and Baylor, and they were absolute no-shows. Figures.

I really don't like Boston in this game. Besides Marquis, both Shaq and
Semih are out. Then you got Pierce who stayed home sick yesterday.
Celtics are not the Celtics tonight or until after All Star break, when
Delonte returns to bolster the bench. Ray breaks the record tonight,
but they likely won't win the game.

Hey, how do you decide which 4 teams to clump together in your 10-ptrs? i had only one teaser yesterday but i was very similar to yours. it was Siena+Niagara+Canisius+StPeters. i wasn't sure about putting Dartmouth in a teaser but your 1H Dartmouth pick seemed to make a lot of sense so i tried that on its own. Well, i'm glad both your teasers hit. here's hoping you have another good day with those teasers!

hey dave.. my only regret today is not sticking with the Temple -2.5 play.
although I can't blame myself, they had a top player listed as questionable with bad ankle.
hoping for Rhode Island to come back here.
So many plays left.
how do i decide on the 4-teams ?
as a general rule, use only:
(a) a favorite you are very confident will win, at home, laying minimum
-7 > -15 range original spread.
(b) a dog which you can see being competitive to the wire.
(c) the very high (22+) dogs which are not absolute scrubs.

- rule out any plays in the range of a low/mid-point favorite. turning a low/mid-point fave into a
low/mid-point dog does not substantially help you avoid losing the bet.
- never use the same side in more than one teaser.
- it is possible to use opposing sides of the same game in different teasers
when appropriate. For example, if home fave is laying -10.5, teaser (a)
has home fave @ -0.5... and teaser (b) has road dog getting +20.5
only when you strongly believe the game has a max 20-point swing.
- when nervous about a possible tie losing, only arrange the plays which
result in getting the half-point hooks on your side.

not so, DSI actually offers basketball 4-team +10,10.5,11,11.5,12.
i just logged on to DSI and checked. click the league, proceed to page
2, and scroll down for SP teasers. Although I wouldn't be interested in
anything more than 10.5, sometimes having that hook can help. on VIP
I'm limited to only 10, and just go with that. every hook added reduces
payout..

So perhaps you can get the 10-pointers in.
I also like my ATS plays equally today especially Providence.

i guess part of my question was also *how* you decide on which team goes into which teaser. for example: yesterday why didn't you make Rhode Island, Texas, Miami OH +2, StMary's (all favorites) into one group. what makes you select certain teams to go with each other?? (or is it just all random, or by game-time?, from a large pool of candidates.)

also, i didn't understand what you meant by (a) laying minimum -7 > -15 range. does that mean the original spread for the favorite team is between -7 to -15?

hehe, okay.. here is what i came up with today:
Duke pk, So Illinois +19, Niagara +24, Iona -6.

there are two favorites (hope it works) -- Duke is between -7 and -15 and i really don't think they are gonna lose (slightly praying also)... and Iona is outside of the optimal range @ -16 but Marist is one of those absolute scrubs you mentioned and Iona should be able to handle it. the dogs were on a maybe list and i saw them on your teaser which gave me confidence to put them on mine.

well, dave, the only time i specifically arrange a 10pt (after all candidates are chosen)
out of chronological order is when i am betting more on one than another. in that case you
choose the 4 strongest and put them together.. otherwise i go by game time.
- yes, i meant favorites in that range to tease down. for example, your Iona down to -6
is really Iona -7, as ties lose. when it gets that high, it still has to be a sizeable victory.
I like to avoid favorites that big, even teased down.
concerning the Duke in your teaser, I am on the other side ATS.. but like you said, all Duke has to
do is win.. they are on the road, so it's not automatic, however likely.
one major trap you could fall into is getting lazy about choosing say 10-11 pt faves to tease down.
what you can do to make sure that doesn't happen is - always consider the other side..
for example compare Duke pk to Miami +20. (or Iona -6 to Marist +26). with Marist at home, 25 is
a lot of extra points to start a game with, but only because they are at home.
looks like my Niagara and Xavier parts are in the bag.

hey, it's cool.. we all know that losing by .05 is the toughest thing to take.
and most of us aren't set up for payout with a large number of diff. books
or locals. Keep up the great work, I really like your attitude, winner.

probably not, but i'm not risking money on either Kansas or Syracuse
tonight. K-State could break out of their slump and have the game of
the year for them. injury questionables on Kansas brings doubt if players
which are not as accustomed to the big spotlight on hostile ground will
have to play significant minutes.
