my apologies to those who tailed last night.. Portland was flat and got in early foul
trouble. Portland doesn't suck. They are head and shoulders the better team over San Fran.
However what I'm noticing this year is that the better team just is not showing up on the road.
It's been very dangerous to take road teams. Sure, once in a blue moon one will win that shouldn't.
The winners on my card last night were Elon and Jacksonville State.
I am going to be a lot more careful concerning betting money on visitors.
Tonight's card is the usual light action in MAAC and a little Horizon, and Atlantic Sun.
Vegas has the home teams marked up high and pricey.
Butler and Valpo are too high for my taste. Iona on road at -15 is priced at a premium,
but Niagara is the worst team in the MAAC.
St. Peters is unreliable and is only favored bec. they are home vs. Siena.
Canisius is improved this year but nowhere near the same team as Fairfield, yet I
feel wary of taking Fairfield ATS, and ML is pricey at (-220).
Valpo is a good bet to include in ML parlays, but I am not laying 9 pts. I don't even want to tease them to -4. I think Siena will show up tonight to reach 4-4 in Conference Play
and Rossiter can go large in the paint on St. Peter's.
Now that the Belmont line is out, I'm hitting it at -19 also. Just look at how they have been
thoroughly decimating other teams. This team will be in the Tournament to represent AS conf.

their opponent, South Carolina Upstate, is a cellar team.
Belmont has a penchant for blowing out inferior competition.
This is the last time I will go with the better team on the road for a while, if they lose.
If just one of Siena ML or Belmont covers, fine.. but if both lose

i knew it may not work - as I've been getting paved with road teams..
but the Celtics did cover and I had them ATS and in a tease with Fairfield.
I definitely like the Celtics again tonight @ Wizards. They really didn't overexert themselves
too much last night in the second half. They ran plays the Jazz have never seen before.
Jazz were left standing around wondering what the hell happened. Same thing tonight, the line
is not high around -6 and C's are very smooth.
call me a glutton for punishment, but I'm going with Ohio State at noon. It's on CBS.
Like I said, going to have to become very choosy with road teams. This year is going that way.
Ohio State is ranked #1 by AP, Coaches, and Parrish. I know the Illini will have all their homers
out in full noise, but OSU is one of those teams which obviously has big plans and can win on
the road.. at 19-0. Illini play over their heads sometimes, but I don't think they break the OSU
win streak.. 20-0 sounds like it's coming to me.
What I'm going to do is play them ML(-150) in some parlays and SU at -3(-110).

as for Portland, i see they actually made 9 out of 24 three-ptrs tonight. whoa, that's a bit improved. by comparison, St. Mary's made 8 out of 23 tonight. i am tempted to say they almost pulled a Portland and lost it.. (hehehe.) note: i did not watch both games fully though. but maybe tomorrow Portland will actually have a chance to cover if they are more than +15, or something. (and they might even win if their coach enacts an experimental no 3-ptrs policy, hehe. -sorry.)

equally, but nobody would bet a 7-team parlay equally, at least I hope not.
imagine if Ball St won it woulda been a sweep including a 7-team parlay at 9.82/1..

he's been out over a month. for the first time he is listed as questionable. No better time
to take a stab at playing than Friday night at home. the line indicates such (without possible emergence of Dixon, I believe it would be higher), but, moreover, Chris Wroblewski is playing in pain for Cornell. He averages 15.5 ppg.. expected to play with partially torn hip flexor. Far from 100%. Dartmouth fought well at Harvard in their last outing, losing by only 9 there. Harvard is far superior to Cornell this year. It's also a long cold ride up to New Hampshire.
