Line move is important but a few times now that when I picked it early, I get the better spread.

Like last night in the lakers game. I bought total early at over 190. I then moves to higher at 92 for a push or higher for a loss.

I guess you can say that I win some and I lose some with picking the wrong line to bet so it all evens out.

Looking at line to me is like buying gasoline. The one around the corner is only 3 cents cheaper than the one in downtown but driving to downtown to save a few cents is too much work.

Maybe next year, I will bet while looking at line movement. Those lines that changes drastic during opener to closing, I stay away from those game because something fishy is up. I don't want bookies to lead me to pick the wrong side either. I'm just so used to seeing parlay cards. Line don't move on parlay cards. If the spread is -3, it stays at -3 all day. LOL

read your analysis..on gasoline.....here is the reverse...two gallons of Milk one at 2.60..and another at 3.60
both taste the same....which has the better value ????......same approach to betting games....regardless of the outcome...you want the one with the better value....especially when trying to beat the closer...just like a line move...when the value is gone one one side......you go the other way or pass...............

ah but here's another thing.

Scenario 1, you already pick your team and line movement watching only benefits you from getting the best line before the closure.

Scenario 2, you do not pick any team and let the line movement decides which team you are going to pick at the best value before closure.

You can't play both scenario at the same time. Both can be profiting but one is the better one in the long run. I don't know, in NBA where scores are less likely to run on a half a point or a 1 point winner/loser decision, it then comes back to the gasoline theory that I mentioned above. Sure there are some games where beating the closure benefits and we have seen it but that is like 1 or 2 games out of 14 of them.

Also fading the public is scenario 2. If this style hits most of the time, there is no public. I guess the best is to know when to play when. Next year, I'm going to play both or at least try to play both.

think the key is "trying" to finding your edge....on the card.....oddsmaker "blinks" first...has to set a number..for both sides..and also has to account for supply and demand...the challenge is finding the "mistakes"....most lines are set accurate.....even though some do not fall anywhere near the number....notice how some numbers are left alone ???.....
