From the news room here in DC on Ovie...no word on if he's playing or not...he did not practice yesterday.
I am playing this as an UNDER - Theodore is really fired up to play his former squad and the Caps are banged up. My cousin was at the practice yesterday and said they looked extremely sluggish.
McPhee: Ovechkin will be 'fine'
Alex Ovechkin was limping around after last night's game, the result of taking a slap shot off his left foot in the third period of the Caps' 4-3 shootout win over Montreal. His foot was also seriously swollen, and he's not taking part in this morning's optional practice.
But I caught up with GM George McPhee moments ago and he said that Ovechkin will be "fine." He also said he has no doubt that Ovechkin will be ready to play tomorrow against the Avs.
"Everybody out there has some swelling right now," McPhee said.
Also, Viktor Kozlov is skating for the first time in a few days. But the session is very, very light, so it's hard to tell where he is in his recovery from a groin muscle pull.Comment -

Andy - even though they covered the 6 last outing, they pushed the 6 the prior outing with a 5-1 win over Tampa. My local book isn't posting any lines on this until this Ovie stuff shakes out - really shady right now.
Keep in mind the Caps have Pens on Sunday and Flyers on Tuesday - classic look ahead scenario and based on how they looked at practice...this could go anyway.
Caps are 7-9-0 vs. West (5-3-0 @ home)
Best advice - follow hockeytown and stay away - must bet, UNDER..maybe if you are up this week take COL PL for a value play?

as a lifelong suns fan, the over 233 okc/pho line is a great pick. suns are loving the new system and the freedom they have to go back to their old ways. they're riding high from their consecutive 140 pt showings and will go against a slightly better thunder squad at home who also have one of the best scorers in the league in durant. the young kids of okc will be ready to take on the run and gun style of the new suns because they know they can't use their D to contain them like the spurs can. may also put some on suns -8.5Comment -

Cavs/Bucks, I'm leaning towards the Bucks. They are 5-1 ATS their last 6 against the Cavs winning 3 of those SU as a dog. They lost their last one at home to the Cavs so I'm liking the revenge factor here. The initial RLM also supports this play as 80% of the public is on the Cavs yet the line dropped .5 point. The over also looks good as 5 of the last 6 between these two teams have supported this.Comment -

right now I just have too many games I like: Char (ck whats styles playing today ?), Hou, NY, Chi, Mil, Okc, ATl and NOH, just too many games right now,
I also think the char line is way too low, but I have to agree with you dex, it might me a hint here, its almost like tha NOH/orl game early this week, just too good to be true
Hou game everything points to Dal here, every trend, but you gotta ask yourself why is it the same line like always ? I mean Tmac is out and Hou didnt play too well at all as of late ?? Friday Night I have to go with the home team here, especially after one of their star players is out for the year, and also take a look at how both of them played against the Nets, Hou did a better job in my eye
NY is a pure stats play, 10-4 ATS at home plus that thing with the 100 pts + dating back to whenver, add in revenge factor, NY it is
CHI, a home dog on a Friday night, plus denver after a long road trip, give me the points here, plus Chi is 3-1 SU at home against Denver
MIL, 2-1 ATS at home vs Cleveland, lets just say I have the feeling that Mil will keep it close
OKC, ok Pho played great against the Clips, but it is still the Clips, and OKC is playing better right now plus they are 9-2 ATS in Pho, and the line is even lower than in previous years, so the bookies didnt throw out a huge line like they should have after the Clips games, I mean OKC got 10 pts at home early in the year, so why only 9.5 today ?? makes you think
