#144Speaking of thelimit... is he around these days? always enjoyed his input..Originally posted by BuckeyeKaptnThanx to whoever started the 7/5 system. It just occurred to me to use that on a MLB system I'm backtesting, actually 1/5/3...but that was just numbers I plugged in, but anyway that concept made it STRONG. Now just gotta get the backtests going.Comment -

Someone wanna provide a link to the rules of the system, like direct link and ill put it in my post for people. Alright good night. Good luck on SAS tomorrow everyone.Comment -

#156The system was not back tested via filters, so I will not apply the traditional system filters. I will be playing all teams on the road starting their road trip for 3 consecutive games as was back tested.Originally posted by ok15533Tim Duncan May not play today. does this count as a filter for todays game ?
Besides traditional system would be most efficient player on the team, so probably would be Tony parker if you applied that filter.Comment -

#158Actually, the only thing tested was the 7/5, with B and C bets only and using the 3 1/2 point spread filter. I mentioned that I started playing 1/7/5 on ALL series with no filters. This was NOT backtested, but provided great results last season. It definitely does not mean that it will again. Just so it is clear and everyone understands, I will say it again. I PLAY IT THIS WAY BUT IT WAS NOT BACKTESTED. It is cool that you are posting it this way, with the 1/7/5 results, but I just want to be sure that people know that I only have one season of live play with this strategy and no results from seasons before that.Originally posted by J.M. #164Hi guys, my new summer time career (offshore yacht instructor) takes me away from the web almost every day during the MLB season so I couldn't play the JM MLB this year. Lucky eh? Anyways, I'm now back onshore and looking forward to the NBA season and contributing to this thread. First point (admin) is that the SBR website is not recognising my hard return key on my notebook, which is a pain in the @rse for you guys. So, until this is resolved I will be sending in a new post for every new paragraph whenever I think it is best to do so. Good luck all, KevComment -

#165I've checked the last few pages of last year's thread and all of the pages of this year's thread and I cannot find the full season data for the 7-5 system for 2012-13. Can anyone help with this? I seem to recall that it was not good reading....Comment -

#166Re Chase110: last year I did not bet on the worst team ATS. Overall, Wallco lost a unit or so, but I avoided 2 losing series and made approx 40 units profit over the season. I'm not suggesting that my filter is worth anything in the long run, because it was not part of Wallco's back test and I certainly have not back tested it, but I believe that passing on 2 or 3 series per year will at worst deprive the player of only a few units profit, but it will avoid the high chance of losing 40 units per year. Food for thought, I think.....Comment -

#167Tonight's JM V3 bet (SAS): 1-7-5 system (no point buy) has no back test pedigree. Play it with caution.Comment -

#168And finally: If you are a JM follower to the letter (ie you apply all his rules), SAS is a ML bet due to the enormous -ve spread. You might get away with a 3 point buy, but the system has been bitten in the past in these circumstances. Also, remember that JM has no back test pedigree for the V3 system.Comment -

#169There isn't a filter when a player is out. A player's injury will most likely benefit the spread.Originally posted by ok15533Tim Duncan May not play today. does this count as a filter for todays game ?
But as always, if you don't feel good about a wager, don't play it.
Added: I made my wager around 12 my time Eastern (unaware that it was a 1030pm game), and I got SA at -7.5. I just checked and now SA is -8. The casinos already had Duncan out when they made the line.Comment -

#170Just because it wasn't part of the original backtest doesn't necessarily mean that it wouldn't be a better way to play it, or on the contrary that it would. That is a very complicated backtest to run, but one in which I would love to know the results.Originally posted by Kev the BritRe Chase110: last year I did not bet on the worst team ATS. Sorry did not let me get rid of the bold print when I copy and paste and was not going to retype it all. Just going to have to deal with it and enjoy a +9.1 unit day tomorrow.
SAS will not be a play via Thelimits recent post of the 3.5 filter. If you already place the bet, than its up to you to bet other side and take small loss on juice or leave it and hope it wins. The series is over.Comment -
