    Nice,
I was saying many months ago to fade Orlando in the playoffs as they are not the same as last year.
Guess I'll stick with my gut here.

Although I will take D. Howard props to go over in every game, he is a beast.

Damn, I'm on the other side completely. I can't see ATL hanging with Dwight at all and perhaps they'll hold Jameer down a bit, but they could possibly counter with Hedo running the ball and have Jameer play off-ball. I really think this series goes to Orlando because they are overall the superior team and that they'll take the first game handily on their home court against a struggling ATL team, perhaps losing Game 2 if ATL is really as motivated as everyone thinks they are.

I think the key to the series is the Ryan Anderson/Brandon Bass combo vs. Horford and Smith. On paper, I'd go with Horford and Smith easy, but within the team context, I feel like ORL has the edge.

Remember boys, lesson learned. Atlanta will give Orlando a run of their money. Atlanta will cover game 1.

I just wonder what team is going to show up. The hawks or the team they call the hawks that would lose to the twolves by 30?

    Hawks +8.5 -110 (5x)

    Hawks ML +365 (1x)

GL LB! I agree with Orlando not being the same team but I am hesitant to put any money on Atlanta. Should be a good game to watch.

stay away, orlando very capable of blowing the hawks out. they just don't do well against top teams, and atlanta isn't a top team.

honestly, I think 8.5 isn't that far off. books have had longer to handicap this game (round 1 game 1) than literally any other game this season - I don't think they release a "ridiculous" line in this spot, i have 8 to 8.5 also. I think the magic win this one by double digits....although they have had some JOKISH losses this season. Personally, I'm staying away from this one.

Hawks are a joke. For years, they have been the elite Eastern team that could get trashed by NYK (pre-Amare & pre-Melo). They owned ORL in the regular season. I expect ORL to return the favor in the playoffs.

really? He gained credibility with me.
if you think stan is the right guy down there you are an idiot. Worst thing that happened to them besides picking up gilbert was billy donovan backing out of the coaching job. He would have ten plays that were designed for a dwight dunk. Stan leads the league in 3 pt attempts when he has the next shaq.

This spread should be 2 points lower, but you really wanna back a team limping into the play-offs and imploding on itself?

Heat and Lakers spreads are really inflated too.

i hope you arent serious. laying -400 in a coin flip game is absurd. orlando was only 1 spot ahead of the hawks. atl ml has much more value than magic ml. orlando is all name and past rep. this ISNT a good team. understand that first and atl has payback in mind. the hawks couldnt touch the magic for years but won 3 of 4 in this years series. hawks are the play.

What's keeping me off the game is even though Magic have weakened since lasy year, so have the Hawks. They have both regressed.

Couldn't disagree more with that. Orlando is head and shoulders above the Hawks. Their seeding is not an indication of the difference between the 2. I've heard a lot of analysts use win margin to rate a teams true strength. And Atlanta actually has a negative margin which corresponds to a team that should win about 48% of their games. Magic on the other hand have been dominating teams and their correlated win% is 66%. That is a HUGE difference in class between the 2 teams. If you dont like advance stats you can just go look at ANY power rating anywhere and you'll see that Atlanta and Orlando are nowhere near each other. Especially considering how Atlanta ended the season calling this a coin flip game is lunacy.

Only thing they have going for them is that they seem to match-up with the Magic well since they beat them 3 times this year. Not sure how they do, maybe Jason Collins bitches Dwight around. But this is only for this season, last year it was Orlando that had the edge so i would not buy into the regular season head to head at all, its gonna be very different in the play-offs.

Coin toss? Revenge factor? Sir YOU can't be serious. 2nd what Demens said about stats. They are a dominate team, most teams can't match up, when they beat teams they squash them! Unless there is something going on within the Locker room I espect Magic to smash again! For you to bring up revenge factor and Magic is not that good anymore tell me what the **** do you see in the Hawks?
