#298Guys, I have a point to make about ElCapitan's results for the ML bets versus the PL bets. The 2 staking plans are not the same. Furthermore, if you check the ML bets, you will see that when a B bet or C bet wins, the series will still lose money. Lets look at EC's C bet for St Louis last night: V2 St. Louis Blues (C) ML +175 (2.3 to win 4.02). We know it lost, but if it had won the profit from that bet would be 1.72, which would not cover the 1.07 (A bet) and 1.95 (B bet). In fact, the St Louis series woud have lost 1.3 units if the C bet had won. From this, it is clear that the ML system relies heavily on the A bets winning the profit and the B and C bets recovering some of the A bet losses. Consequently, the ML system cannot be hugely profitable, but neither will it incur a huge loss.
The PL system, on the other hand, guarantees that a winning B bet or a C bet will produce a profit for the series. Consequently, it can be significantly profitable, but it does incur huge losses. 4 C bet losses this year already. JM should never have introduced the V2 system. He did so due to greed. If EC was, today, comparing JM's V1 teams (on PL) against the same teams on the ML, I am sure that the PL will be +19 units after 19 series (100%)and the ML would be less (at least 5 x V1 ML series did not win on the A bet, and the winning B and C bets would have recovered some of the A bet losses, so a probable profit in the order of 15 units)
I don't doubt that EC's ML system is +1.73 units after 46 series and the PL system is -79.34, but the simple fact is that by comparing his ML bets with the JM bets, he is comparing chalk and cheese.

#299Not sure what you're talking about in regards to the ML system, Kev. I play it exactly the same as the PL system - to win 1 unit of profit per series. If the A bet wins, you will probably do a little better than 1 unit because in generally you're getting +odds. Let's look at the St. Louis series you were referring to:
V2 St. Louis Blues (A) ML -107 (1.07 to win 1) *LOSS* (after this bet we were -1.07)
V2 St. Louis Blues (B) ML +106 (1.95 to win 2.07) *LOSS* (so here we tried to win 2.07 to put us +1 unit but we lost again, so now we're -3.02 units (1.95 + 1.07))
V2 St. Louis Blues (C) ML +175 (2.3 to win 4.02) *LOSS* (on our final bet we're trying to win 4.02 to make up the -3.02 and again put us +1 unit)
I thought it was pretty straightforward. If any of the bets win you'll be +1 unit.

#302Guys, I have been following for a few years and never mess with the V2 system. Always multiple C losses. It was one of Nguyen's (Jim Morrison) little adjustments to cover some losses and suck some money out of more people. I only bet the V1. Again the original V1 three game away chase has been around for years. Nguyen just stuck this Jim Morrison name on it as well as a "stock" photo on the website and ran with it. Quite successfully I might add. Because of him everyone is familiar with it as the JM or Morrison system. There really is no Jim Morrison but the name sure has stuck like a "bandaid". Thanks Cap for tracking and saving everyone who follows this system the work!Comment -

Yep, sorry, I got it wrong. I find the American odds confusing. I overlooked the fact that when a +106 bet wins, the bettor receives the 106 units as profit (ie receives 206 units back from the bookie). With a decimal bet of 1.06, the profit is only .06 units.
So, apologies, guys, if I caused any confusion.

#312V2 is in my trash can. 4 losses.
I'm not suggesting that there will be more V2 losses and I'm not saying that V1 is perfect. However, V1 has been back-tested and proven to be a solid system, with only 1 or 2 losses in every 80 series. I know there is no logic to V1's success, but stats are stats. V2 has no real back-test, except last year when it went 100%, unbelievably.

#314EL CAP: was wondering if it would be possible every few wks. or so, to post an update as far as the TOTAL UNITS W/L for the v1 & v2 separately, like ya did on your spr. sheet last yr.? It would just give us an indication once in a while of what each version is doin individually, instead of combined. V2 (W/ 4 C losses) doesn't seem to be doin v1 justice at all.Comment -
