Yup yesterday gave me bad memories of the old degenerate gambler I was. Fewer, bigger plays is the way to do it.

With this total at 6.5 in every book the over 1.5 looks pretty simple for the 1st. Washington is the highest scoring 1st period team and Toronto has given up the most 1st period goals of any team. Even though the under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings I still like the first period over in this one. Caps are deadly at home and average just under 4 goals a game there.

BOS vs LA Under 1.5 (1st) (-117) Pinnacle $117 to win $100
Boston has had trouble scoring goals with all their injuries lately and have been forced to play a more defensive game. BOS is 2nd best in first period goals allowed and the Kings are a respectable 6th. With this total at 5 I prefer to play the under first rather than the game. The Kings are 4-1 for the under their last 5 at home and 7 of BOS's last 8 road games have gone under. Thomas and Quick look to be the starters so I feel confident in their abilities.

SJ -1.5 vs EDM (+105) Creditwagering $100 to win $105
The Oilers continue to tank it and the Sharks are money at home. The Sharks have won 5 straight vs the Oilers including 2 meetings this year. Dubynk is the confirmed starter for the Oilers so the Sharks should have fun tonight. Just no value in the ML so PL is the play in this one.

Bad beat in the BOS/LA under 1st

Another late goal with 1:40 left. I thought I had won I had my NHL real-time scoreboard open said 1-0 through 1. So sick. Sharks won at least. 1-1 -$12 on the early plays.

MIN vs PHO Under 1.5 (1st) (-120) Creditwagering $120 to win $100
The first period under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings including 2-0 for the under this year. Looks like it will be Backstrom and Bryzgalov in net which is good as both are two of the top goalies in the West. The teams are 26th and 30th overall in 1st period goals for and Phoenix is 29th in goals against in the 1st. PHO is 16-6-2 for the under at home this year so I look for a low scoring first.

Not a whole lot I like. I will probably be making a play on the PIT/VAN game later though.

too bad about Minny/Phoenix. i just decided to pass on this one after getting burned with the Devils the other night. if the can score 2 on the devils in a period, they can score against anyone. Minny is also not bad at scoring.

do you have a play for the late game? I think Penguins look pretty good. i just have a feeling about them tonight. Vancouver hasnt been too good lately, even at home

Love the Canucks tonight in this spot. They have lost 3 straight games, including 2 straight at home. They haven't lost 3 straight at home all season and the Pens are 2-0 on their Western Canada roadtrip. Teams rarely sweep the EDM, CAL, VAN roadtrip and with the Pens having won the first two I see them being beat by the Canucks tonight. Rookie John Curry is the starter for the Pens and will be in tough tonight against Luongo.

i didnt know that fleury was not starting. that changes it a bit but i still think Pens can pull it off. they have momentum right now. they are a momentum team. usually it is hard for slumping team to break their slump against a team that has momentum. that said, i am a penguins fan so i want them to win. i put a small wager on the Pens in 3 periods just to make it fun.
GL to you though. this game is a 50/50 tossup in my opinion.

good call. i only bet $10 on this game to make it interesting. not much of a loss. i havent really seen this curry guy play before. if i would have known that fleury is out, i would have skipped this wager.
i am surprised it is 5-1. looked pretty good when Pens were up 1-0. i didnt see that coming

Damn sorry man

I've had a rough couple last days too. Been spinning my wheels in the mud pretty much the last 3 days. Caps look like a pretty solid play tomorrow as they have under -200 odds at home for once. I think the over 1st and game might be the best plays in that one the way the Caps are scoring and letting in goals lately.
