Hey everyone, sorry I am kinda new at sports betting and I have a question that ive been real confused about. What does it me or how do you win the best if you bet on a teams ML.....for example Lilffkid said he liked or took Chicago Blackhawks ML and Penguins ML......Just confused on what the Money line stands for and how would you win a bet if you bet on the ML?

Money line just refers to you betting on a team to win straight up. The moneyline itself (the number) tells you what odds you are getting.

Example: Blackhawks -150 means that you are betting on the Blackhawks to win straight up, and that you would have to risk $150 to win $100. Positive numbers are the opposite: +120 means that if you risked $100, you would win $120.

PHI vs TOR Over 6 (-122) Pinnacle $122 to win $100
Philly has been scoring a ton lately, averaging 5.4 goals a game in their last 5. The Leafs have been tanking it as of late and are averaging 3.8 goals against in their last 5. With Toskala confirmed as the Leafs starter I like this over even more as Toskala is near the bottom of the league in every goaltending category. In their previous meeting this year Philly won 6-2.

I've been doing some research on first period bets and will be trying some out. Philly is the 7th highest scoring 1st period team and has a +11 goals differential. Meanwhile Toronto is dead last for first period goals allowed and has the worst 1st period goal differential at -19. The Leafs tend to come on strong in the 2nd but usually start slow.

Two of the lowest scoring 1st period teams clash tonight showcasing two of the best goalies in the league. Brodeur and Bryzgalov are the confirmed starters. The Devils are 23rd in the league in 1st period goals for and 10th best in 1st period goals allowed. The Coyotes meanwhile are dead last (30th) in the NHL for 1st period scoring and 4th best in 1st period goals allowed. The two teams are a combined 56-27 for the under on the year so needless to say I expect this to be an extremely tight checking game.

Leafs/Flyers I'm pretty sure you mean, but I think it's a pretty strong play. Leafs have given up the most goals in the whole league in the first.

Yup would be a push for me. Unless you got PHI at + odds then you should have the same as mine. Some books have PHI -0.5 for 1st at + odds. I prefer just straight up with the push just in case.

yeah i got it at the same odds as you. philly had 3 powerplays against the worst penalty kill in the league and they cannot score. sucks. at least i got a push. 06 is not looking good though. I was gonna tail your whole card but missed that over 1.5 change right before game time. I am glad i did though. It looked like a good bet and i was pissed that i missed it but this game is going completely different then what i thought would happen

Yeah I regret doing that now in hindsight. Those late additions to the card do not seem to be too successful for me. Yeah I expect it to open up in the 2nd. Hopefully 2-2 at least by the end of it

i think it was a good bet. i would have made it if i noticed it in time. they had 3 powerplays. could have easily been 2+ goals already.

Yeah that's true. It was one of those bets I would have regretted not betting. Took a shot at least just came out unlucky.

I get 'new player itis' but that's only acceptable for the first 20 games. Pardon me, Wings on power play and scored within 20 seconds. Wings back on the PP - this could get ugly real quick. TOR should set aside their egos and learn to play together - there's enough talent there to be mid-pack at worst.

I just don't see how PIT can lose this game the way EDM is playing lately. That does scare me a bit but I don't believe in conspiracies and the whole IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE..... theory. The Pens are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and just knocked off a much better Calgary team last night, so EDM should be an easier task tonight.
