#178like em zulu. i think LSU by a TD plus, like 24-17. at -3', i'm sort of thinking about the under, now at 50. i don't think that Mississippi State gets more than 14-17, my only concern is that i could see LSU with 17-10, probably more easy than i can 33+. gotta think on that one.Originally posted by zuluhead1``1For the early games, at the moment I am liking: LSU -3.5 Boise -20.5 Iowa State +7.5
like Boise a lot. i'm OSU fan, so i watched a lot of Toledo-OSU. Toledo's decent, much better than Akron, but OSU is nowhere near Boise (much as it pains me to say it). Toledo's DBs will get torched by Kellen Moore. will probably book that soon.
Iowa State looks solid too. UConn is bad, no reason to assume they'll cover any number of points. only concern is ISU off big upset in rivalry game, but they're not a good team to begin with. you have to be a decent team to have a letdown, i think.
i lean Clemson against Auburn, but like the over better there. 50% chance of rain though.
like Kansas/Georgia Tech over a lot.Comment -

#183Friday Aussie Rules Play from HoG
I'll chalk Tuesday up to one of those days. Not much to learn from that, other than how to not chase after tough losses. Aussie Rules Friday morning, so here we go.
Hawthorn -13' (Friday, 5:45am). I love the Hawks in this spot even more than I liked Carlton last week. The line is probably low because of some minor injury concerns for Hawthorn and Sydney's recent run of play. Well, it'll take more than a couple wins against St. Kilda and a win against a disinterested Geelong side to fool me into playing the Swans. The Hawks dominated the regular season matchup at the SCG, winning by 45. This match is in Melbourne. In the Preliminary Finals round, the Elimination Finals winner is a pitiful 2-22 against the Qualifying Finals loser. And, as we all know, there is tremendous gap between the elite and decent sides in the AFL. I think Hawthorn will win by 6+ goals and really can't see them winning by anything less than 3 goals. HoG will be glued to afl.com gamecenter early tomorrow morning cheering on his Hawks.

#198love way too many early games. passing on Temple and Ole Miss simply because already have 3 noon games and try to keep myself to 3 games max per time slot. basically looking to focus in on two 330 games to add. lean UNL -17 and UT/Florida over right now, but the beauty of CFB is that there is no shortage of options if i'm willing to put in the time.Comment -

#204thanks, LTA, BOL to you too. i'm not big on write-ups and i don't like to tout picks real loudly, but i cannot for the life of me understand how someone could back Toledo tonight (or MSU last night, for that matter). dead money, i say. bear in mind, i'm an Ohio State fan, and i despise Boise as much as pretty much any team except Michigan, but Boise and Ohio State are not even in the same class of team at the moment. i have heard more people say "well, if Toledo could hang with OSU at the Shoe, they can hang with Boise at the Glass Bowl." that statement exemplifies ignorance and the public's need to apply the transitive property from 8th grade geometry class to sports handicapping (which never works). Ohio State could not exploit Toledo's vulnerabilities in the secondary, while no team other than Stanford or Oklahoma probably could exploit those weaknesses better than Boise, especially once Moore turns up the tempo. on the other side, if Boise's defense can shut down UGA in the Georgia Dome, i'm not concerned about Toledo in the Glass Bowl. this is not hating on Toledo, this is recognizing that Boise is a half-tier below Bama and Oklahoma, and a full tier above Ohio State (if not more). as for home field, there were still tickets available last night, so this won't exactly be Autzen Stadium Boise is visiting. Boise by 28+.Originally posted by Love The ActionI really like Boise as well, but that's so many points on the road....still thinking about that one. #206thanks, zulu, good to hear that you like them and your input is always solid. did you know that two of Maryland's starting WRs are suspended for the game? granted, it's not as if either guy is Justin Blackmon, nor is Maryland a team overly-reliant upon the pass, but Danny O'Brien really impressed me in the opener, so him losing those options hurts. Edsall is one of my favorite coaches, too, but i see UM having real problems against WVU's pass rush on offense and Air Raid attack on defense. i think that Maryland also will have real problems addressing all of the options that Geno Smith has in that offense, and won't have the weapons to keep up when Holgorsen's attack starts humming.Originally posted by zuluhead1``1I love most of those picks Biff. #210I agree with most of this. O'Brien looks to be one of the Top QB's in the country, so I don't think losing recievers will be that huge a blow. Also, you are correct about Smith as well as WVU's pash rush because Maryland is fairly small on O and D line. The factor I am taking into to mind here is WVU's depleted secondary. Only returning 2 started from a pass defense that ranked 11th in the nation is a big issue for WVU. We saw glimpses of how a good passing game can stretch this new secondary against Marshal. O'Brien will most definitely take full advantage of this if the O-line can keep him up. I am not saying WVU won't win, but I see this game being a shoot out and I never touch the sprea o shoot outs.Originally posted by BiffTFinancialthanks, zulu, good to hear that you like them and your input is always solid. did you know that two of Maryland's starting WRs are suspended for the game? granted, it's not as if either guy is Justin Blackmon, nor is Maryland a team overly-reliant upon the pass, but Danny O'Brien really impressed me in the opener, so him losing those options hurts.
