#1999Originally posted by v1yBasically, coenen is an overrated kickboxer with a great armbar from guard. Everyone expects tate to pound coenen out the same way carmouche did in her fight with coenen. (minus the miraculous comeback)
however, i'm pretty sure tate is a little bit worried about coenen's guard, and thinks her striking is way overrated. i expect tate to keep this fight standing, and only if she's losing will she go for takedowns.Originally posted by koscheckbabyI thought Tate trains with Josh Barnett? I think she loves the grappling game. She looked great subbing Zoila Frausto. If I'm gonna bet on female MMA (which isn't often) I like go with the underdogs, especially when they are in +105 to +180 range. It's a general rule I follow except when Cyborg is involved! Poppacatfish and I have discussed this before and it's worked quite well so far with Amanda Nunes +160 against Budd, Lisa Ward +115 against Aisling Daly. Tate's training with Team Alpha Male should only help improve her grappling game and ability to push the pace.Originally posted by MMAbetMASTAno lines yet on my book for this, I'm pissed. I'm all over tate as well, and unfortunately she'll probably be in the -120/140 range by the time they're up
Glad to see you're on this pick as well, V! GL!Comment -

#2002Here´s a segment from the book:Originally posted by VaughanyApparently a book written by Dana White's mum about him...very damning!.. http://www.smashwords.com/extreader/...te-king-of-mma
"Rosemary’s Baby came out in 1968. The movie starred Mia Farrow as a young woman who, by the end of the movie, has Satan’s child. Dana was born in 1969, shortly after this movie came out. One afternoon, when the nurses brought Dana to me for his feeding, thoughts of this movie came back me. I remembered how Mia Farrow was so sick through her pregnancy in the movie, just like I was. This was the first time Dana had opened his eyes while he was with me. When I looked into his eyes, I was taken aback by how black his eyes were. I had never seen anyone with eyes so black, especially a baby. That realization is etched in my mind as if I had stared into those eyes for the first time only yesterday. My family ancestry is Irish, and so we all have blue or green eyes. I could not tell where Dana’s pupils ended and where the color of the iris should have started. The effect was chilling, and I had the feeling of looking into soulless eyes. The experience was truly upsetting and worried me as to who, or what, he would grow up to be.”
Apperently she thinks her son is Satan! For her to feel like that about her own son is a bit sick. Maybe she is trying to cash in on some of his success by writing this book or its really how she feels about him.Comment -

#2017I don't understand how any of you are on Hamill. He's slow, telegraphs every punch, and his MMA wrestling is less than stellar. Gustafsson is going to completely tool him in the standup and I'm sure Matt will be just happy to stand there and get his face tagged (as usual). Hamill is not smart money... I really like Gustafsson up to -250 in this spot as his skillset along with height is going to give Matt a ton of problems.Comment -

Any opinion on Cage Contender 10 (Davis vs. Roddy, Fields vs Redmond)?
I figured you might have a lean on the Dublin scene. Best of luck this weekend.Comment -

#2020Yeah dont know a hell of a lot about them, especially the co-main Fields vs Redmond. But the main event, Roddy is a decent fighter, has solid knees and reasonably technical striking. The guys he has beaten are very average indeed though which makes me think that Davis might have a better chance than the +250 odds suggest - +175 to +200 is probably more apt. Davis "Son of Life" is a decent athlete, very strong mentally - comes from a tough estate in Bristol and has grown up in Ireland. Has good headkicks and resilience, but also has fought very average competition and has shown that his defensive skills are not that great. He was gettin battered in the first round of his last fight but managed to survive and ended up winning with a spectacular head-kick. But against Roddy I'm not sure if he'll be able to survive for too long unless he has worked significantly on his defense standing. I may make a late small play on Saturday on Davis after I've done a bit more research.Originally posted by ghost kidV,

#2024He hasn't had to for a long time. He's won his fights standing. But he took down Tito, and tried vs rampage but was just too slow. TeHuna took down Gus after everybody said he couldn't, and Gus didn't show any kind of fleet footwork to stop him. Question that determines this fight is whether hamill is too slow, or whether Gus is fast enough to avoid. I think he will be but wouldn't lay the -200 on him.Comment -

#2026Good stuff. Thank you sir. Seems tough to bet either side with much confidence. I took Duffy and Wheeler at Cage Warriors, but this card seems much more random. #2029I was hesitant to play it at the -181 as I expected and hoped that he'd come out closer to -150. Don't think I'd play it at -200, would probly be more confident playing Gustaffson by decision at +200 or something or fight goes distance.Originally posted by blumpkinVaughany Gustaffson is up to -200 where do you draw the line here? Also, money might come in on Hamill closer to fight time, still a couple of weeks to go, Gustaffson might end up at closer -175Comment -

#2030Strongly recommend watching the Ariel Helwani podcast/radio show with McCorkle and Mitrione (Mitrione Minute)... some funny shiiiit, they are on top form!...Pat Barry and Overeem also on the show...
A couple of my favourite gags from the show coutesy of McCorkle...
"My mum tried to feed me as many cupcakes as the UFC has fed Mitrione"!!!
"I was watchin Cruz and Faber fight and they were so small, even the referee looks like a giant compared to them, and I was thinking if I wanna watch two little kids get beat up I'll just go round to Brett Rogers' house"!!!!!!!!
The Brett Rogers gag on its own can be seen here... http://www.mmafighting.com/video/mma...-and-mitrione/Comment
