agreed hugo hes not a great round winner , especially 5 rounds i literally cannot see him winning a decision in 5
hell need a finish if he wants to win this fight, hes so explosive he can go off at any moment so hes a scary dude but technically whittaker should be able to win this matchup round 3/4 tko imo

Weidman's done. He lost his swagger and confidence. Rockhold took his soul and ripped his face up pretty badly. He's taken some pretty bad beat downs lately and he's really not that great at anything. I mean honestly, Weidman's a glorified Rich Franklin

How often does romero win fights with a flying knea? Romero winning by that in round 3 was not obvious at all lol. That fight could of gone either way. Weidman was fine heading into the 3rd. Everytime he got taken down got up fast like it was nothing until the very last one. That 3rd could of gone either way if he didnt get caught.

If whittaker becomes more a favorite than -140 I'm taking romero but if under that taking whittaker lol. Romero is no.bum and is super athletic and fit as hell. I don't see this fight going to decision at all one of these guys going to get knocked out.

whittaker has a great chin, most of yoels knockouts are some crazy shot
whittaker is a smart dude he will fight intelligently , but yoel can catch anybody because hes so explosive
id say 70/30 whittaker wins this imo

He won his UFC debut by Flying Knee KO and throws one in literally every fight.

Wwll I think that one was pretty lucky. Weidman if I remember correctly never lost to one before.

Maybe take Romero KO/TKO or try Whittaker -5.5? Both should be decent plus odds

Yoel is so explosive he loves flying knees, spinning backfists, shit like that because hes so explosive if any of those land its night night
i dont even think Whittaker will be there when he throws stuff like that , his footwork is elite

i think overeem beats werdum as well though been on him for a month now, he has Werdums number and matches up great against him, just needs to be careful of werdums kicks/clinch

I only like taking moneyline to win. All the rest just confuses me and makes it harder for me to enjoy the fight. I'll take over or under sometimes so maybe I'll just bet it not to go to decision and cheer for someone to win before it ends lol

Ok here's why Whitaker wins this fight at least 75% of the time for all of you idiots out there (fukk it I want to be cocky, I'm Eazy E after all)...

Romero was on steroids and we all know how fighters look after the juice (especially Brazilians).

                                  He will get tired first.

                                  He takes too many chances.

Whitaker throws straight punches and is a better striker.

I guess Romero could hold him down for two out of 3 rounds and eek out a decision, but I doubt it.

Imo romero only wins if he knocks him out. All his chances he's been taking sure has put him on a big winning streak. Romero I think has more in.his arsenal than Whittaker also I think he might be stronger as well. Still.undecided though on who I take depends on odds.

I'm on Whittaker but why mention Brazilians looking bad after juice? Also it's FIVE rounds here not three which I think makes a big difference. I would be very surprised if Romero was able to Lay and Pray Whittaker for 3/5 rounds. Whittaker is hard to take down and harder to hold down.

romero is super explosive but overrated imo
I think it was more of Romero's timing than Weidman's mistake that was responsible for that KO. Romero is unfairly portrayed as a tactically unsound fighter with a lot of explosiveness and luck. But the guy has another devastating flying knee KO earlier on against Starks. Very unlikely for a guy to pull the same KO move with that much intention and force by accident. The other thing is that he has a ton of 3rd round KOs. This is some evidence that he's either figuring out his opponent a bit as the fight progresses or, at the very least, saves up some power in reserve to unload once both fighters have tired and the pace has slowed a bit.

I can see the reasoning behind backing Whittaker here, since he's got the style and boxing that matches up well with Romero on paper. But I wouldn't bet against Romero big unless he just completely loses that burst of athleticism and ages overnight. I haven't seen that yet so I'd advise to tread lightly.

He's also got FIVE round 3 finishes. That's an absurd amount of 3rd round finishes and I imagine has to be a UFC record. Given the stats, I can't imagine that to be luck or flukey, and more indicative of Yoel having a KO power reserve and/or being good at getting down his opponent's timing.

that knee only landed because of Weidmans mistake, he shot the takedown on the wrong side, if he shot it the way he was the entire fight he couldnt land the shot, Weidman and his coach even knew and said he fcked up shooting that side which gave yomero the win.. but in the end it was his fault and romeros great timing cant take anything away from him it was a great knee

Given the stats, I can't imagine that to be luck or flukey, and more indicative of Yoel having a KO power reserve and/or being good at getting down his opponent's timing.
It was a fluke against weidman. Weidman never gets knocked out on.takedowns. I'm just sticking to it because weidman is an amazing wrestler

Romero ITD is +180 which I imagine will be pretty close to the KO prop since I can't imagine anyone thinking a submission will be forthcoming (he doesn't even have one submission victory). That's not too far off from the ML at +120 right now. Still, I can't even imagine what Romero will look like in the 4th and 5th rounds since the guy consistently tries to find ways to get more rest in between rounds in 3 round fights. Maybe better value would be Romero in Rds 2 and 3, since he's rather inactive in Rd 1.

I've played the over 1.5 rds when it was close to -160 for the above reason since I was sure it'd be set at 2.5 rds. I understand that both guys have a ton of power and can put each other out, but neither guy charges in once the fight starts. Like Holloway it takes Whittaker at least a round to get going too. Also, fighters tend to ease into 5 rders just in general, and this might be more pronounced with less aggressive fighters. Probably will lay off taking a side but am leaning Romero as the odds keep heading in Whittaker's direction.

I would be very surprised if Romero was able to Lay and Pray Whittaker for 3/5 rounds. Whittaker is hard to take down and harder to hold down.
Because a high percentage of them have been popped and never looked the same after the recent testing. Bigfoot, Erik Silva, Vitor, Barao, Anderson Silva, Romero, and I'm sure there's a handful of others but I'm too high to think of them right now but the point is that when you get popped for TRT or juice you usually come back shitty. It's not rocket science (not that rocket science is real or anything)

He is 40 now. Will be interesting to see how long that athleticism holds. Romero is great at observing opponents habits and catching them when they make a mistake.

Weidman was attempting takedowns during the entire fight. Romero noticed this pattern. Weidman started to flinch to attempt takedown, Romero flinch preparing to defend it, then Romero flinch quickly into a flying knee and Weidman attempted a takedown at that moment. Romero has a very high fight IQ.
