After watching recent Weidman fights again yeah, I could see this happening.

For the record I´m on Machida. Have a pretty bad track record betting machida fights so not confident but i see him taking it if he doesn´t get subbed in the first.

Also, he is illusive. Seems like no one ever really acknowledges that, through his entire career. And thats my ground breaking analysis complete.

^^^Weidman couldn't take Anderson Silva down consistently so what makes you guys think he can take down Machida? Machida is elusive on his feet and keeps his distance and is certainly not prone to being taken down especially now at 185..

I'm inclined to disagree with the first part, and agree with the second. I think Weidman stands with Machida willingly for much of the fight, and outworks him there. He's going to legkick Machida viciously, and it'll pay dividends. Watch for his body kicks, too, I expect him to be kicking Machida in the body pretty regularly to open up the head kick.

I know that the rest was a joke, of course, it's just that the joke also makes perfect sense if you sub in the word "illusive". Just wasn't sure if it was on purpose or not.

For what it's worth, I heard that Weidman has been training his illusiveness with Antonio Esfandiari for this fight, so he may be able to match Machida there.

i seen an elusive Machida get stretched by Shogun. Also seen him get punched in the face by Jones and that is how Jones choked him out. I wonder what all u Machida lovers would do if the odds were reversed. Weidman isnt Badar

Don't be so sure and quick to call Unwritten Law a fool Rockster.. Machida looks very fast at 185, he could conceivably pick Weidman apart at a distance with his in and out style.. Certainly not crazy to think he can keep the fight standing the entire time and win rounds on points..

Sure Weidman is the man, grappling and wrestling stud, very good striker with power, younger, undefeated, and we all know he took out the pound for pound champ twice.. I just remember Weidman being picked apart a bit standing by Anderson Silva until he connected..

I might just play Machida too.. I certainly don't think Machida will be completely outclassed in this fight... Machida looks really good at 185 in his last 2 fights anyways...

It was the odds being close to +200 which was the ultimate decider for me.. I think the odds should be closer to even to be honest... Machida is no joke and so is Weidman... I'll play the percentages... Kinda liking the over rounds bet more then anything else in this fight..

Hey, I have fun with you clowns on these threads.. I don't get offended easily either so no worries.. I'm forum battle savy..

I just want to break down fights to the basics which helps you pick winners, it's not rocket science.... You do your homework, you do it again. Watch the recent vid fights over again. Read the write ups. You figure out style match ups and go from there.. Figure out a fighters strengths and weaknesses.. Who's durable and who's not for the over and under round bets.. Cardio and not.. Etc..

I post link information on fights which seem fan friendly sure.. I personally go back to all the posts in these event threads and put it all together and then place my bets.. I think that helps me win bets. Hopefully you guys get something from it too and win..

I said this before - Really decided to join this sub forum community here to understand the betting side of MMA plays more then anything else.. Honest truth...

I feel I have always been able to pick em more then not, I'm not up a billion units, I absolutely do lose at times but not so often... I try to stay humble and friendly as always... Not my style to rip on people.. Good karma leads to good luck also as silly as that sounds..

I also like that this forum is into charities as well in order to become a pro.. I'm certainly not a pro gambler yet and won't go pro until I feel I'm that.... This is not my main income even though I hope it will be one day.. So I'll always listen to what you guy have to say, including you MD...

An already generous line for Weidman actually improved. It's going to be hard to exercise proper bankroll management for this one. I just cashed out quite a bit, but I'm seriously considering substantially re-upping for this fight. Lines like this are all too rare. I've already said it, but I conservatively cap Weidman at about -500 for this fight (maybe even more). That's not a knock on Machida either... he really is just that good.
