It's July fellas and I'm back like a heart attack for the second round of our pound the book plays! Hope you guys had a good last few weeks here. To recap for any newcomers coming onboard, we turned $200 into $12K last month, going 22-4 in baseball and 15-3 in tennis. Units wise we pounded them for an astounding +62 units for the month!! Be careful guys, there will be some haters in the house with negative comments. We had a paid handicapping service calling me "some guy on a fluke run". I guess he didnt like the fact that his paid tout service was getting left in the dust units wise by "some guy on a fluke run" giving out free winners. For the record, I don't have any intent of charging anything for my insight. Just my way of helping out.
I took the last few weeks off to enjoy the profits and come back refreshed. In my years of capping (been doing this since 1996 back when there were three telephone only sportsbooks available BETCRIS,WSEX,WWTS), it's always good to take a break when you've reached the goal for the month. It's difficult to beat the book's line every week , day in and out.....but with some sharp capping skills, love for the game, plenty of luck, and money & time management ....you can definitely swing the odds in your favor if you look at it from a monthly standpoint. For me baseball & tennis are two very beatable sports in the handicapping world.
A bit of advice for some guys starting out, don't fall in love with these 1st inning props like the No Run 1st inning line that I've seen a lot of guys betting. These bets are a coinflip at best. The books love these bets and juice the hell outta them. Would you coinflip at a -130 to -160 rate every time?? You get the picture. There are times when you can find good value on these but they are very few and far between.
The method I use which works well for me is to play only one or two single plays a day with a minimal parlay sprinkled in once in a while. Instead of putting one unit on four games, I put four units on one game. If it happens to lose, so be it. We move on to the next day. Spreading yourself thin by playing too many games is a recipe for bankroll burial. You can't cap every single game. But you can hold an edge if you concentrate your efforts on that one game. Sometimes, if you cant find an edge, you simply NO PLAY for that day. It sounds simple in theory but it took years for me to master the NO PLAY for the day.....and trust me it is a skill. There won't be plays released every single day, just a few times a week or whenever I discover a juicy edge on a game.
Allright guys , it's a brand new day and month, let's pound the books!! We made a net profit of a bit over $12K last month. The goal for this month is $8K. This thread will be for baseball and I'll also have a thread on the tennis side. .
Best of luck to everyone!
(play for the day will be released in 2 hrs)
