    Tuesday MLB Recap
    -Boston moved above .500 on the season for the first time in its sixth opportunity
    -Tigers SP Justin Verlander hadn’t allowed 10 hits in a game since September 2010
    -Cubs OF Alfonso Soriano has hit seven HRs in his past 13 games
    -The Padres have dropped eight of nine, falling a game behind the Cubs for the worst record in the NL
    -The Reds went 7 for 14 with RISP
    -For the first time this season, the Baltimore Orioles have dropped three straight series
    -Orioles OF Adam Jones has a 20-game hit streak
    -Atlanta snapped a streak of four straight games giving up at least seven runs
    -The Marlins are 20-8 since May 1, the best mark in the majors
    -Marlins SP Anibal Sanchez improved to 8-0 with a 1.97 ERA against the Nationals

    -Cleveland has been outscored 28-18 while losing three of five home games to Kansas City this season
    -Royals SP Bruce Chen is 2-1 with a 1.44 ERA in four starts at Progressive Field
    -Chen is 0-1 with a 9.39 ERA in two daytime starts
    -The Royals are 5-3 in series deciding contests, winning four of their last six rubber games
    -Since 2010, Chen is 14-8 with a 3.84 ERA in 31 games (27 starts) versus AL Central foes
    -The Indians are 4-10 against left-handed starters this season

        -Minnesota has an MLB-worst starting rotation ERA of 6.33
        -Liriano is 2-3 with a 4.98 ERA in nine career starts against the Athletics

          I agree - Chen's daytime numbers aren't the best this year, but his history at Progressive Field and the Indians being 20th in the league in daytime hitting (.239) gives me confidence.

            Chicago White Sox at Tampa Bay Rays
            -Chicago has outscored opponents by a 61-27 margin during its seven-game win streak
            -The White Sox haven’t swept the Rays at Tropicana Field since June 26-28, 2007
            -Chicago is hitting .477 (31-for-65) with RISP over the last six games
            -The White Sox have homered in 15 consecutive games

              -San Diego will be closing out a 10-game road trip, while also playing the last of five consecutive day games. The Padres are also finishing out a stretch of playing 20 games in 20 days
              -Cubs SP Ryan Dempster’s 2.14 ERA is the lowest for a pitcher winless in his first eight starts to a season since earned runs became an official stat in 1912
              -Dempster is 0-9 with a 3.61 ERA in his last 17 starts, with the offense averaging 2.2 runs over that span
              -The Padres rank last in the majors with a .191 average with RISP
