Nationals Team Total Over 4 [-115]
Shaun Marcum for Milwaukee. Since returning to the rotation, he has made five starts with the opposition scoring at least four runs in all of those games. Marcum has been credited with giving up four runs in those same four games. In eleven road starts this season, only twice has the opposition failed to score at least four. Nats haven't been uber consistent scoring, but are coming off successive games in which they scored four and six runs vs. LA and have four or more in 11 of their last 14 @ home.Comment -

9.24.12: Pirates Team Total Over 4 [-115]
Pittsburgh's death rattle under .500 has been impressive and the offense has been schizophrenic at-best. Still, this is a good spot against Mets' spot starter Jenrry Mejia. Mejia will be making his 5th start. The previous four all ended with the opposition scoring at least five. Against Pittsburgh, he lasted 2.1 IP - he gave up one run and then the bullpen yacked up six more. That's a theme for tonight because Mejia has failed to get beyond 5 IP in any start and has given up at least four runs in three of his four starts. The Mets pen sports a meaty 4.72 ERA. Mets have not allowed a lot of runs lately, three or less in eight of ten - but the Mejia factor paid off in one of the ones that went well over and that's the theme for me in this one.Comment -

Chicago is on the road in Colorado which is a good place to start for OVERs. De La Rosa is getting his second start coming off of Tommy John surgery. He was not sharp giving up five earned/six overall in 3.2 IP against San Francisco. At Coors Field, the Rockies have now given up at least five runs in 14 of their last 20 overall. Chicago has shown the ability to put up runs still with five or better in half of their last ten.Comment -

Mets get a shot at Jeff Locke who will be making his 5th start. In four starts, the opposition has scored at least four in every game. Locke has given up at least three earned runs in three of those four starts. In two road starts, the opposition has scored 20 runs by game's end in his starts. The Pittsburgh pen has been horrid in the last ten with an ERA of 7.55. With Locke only going more than five once, it is likely that the bullpen comes into play in this one. Mets have scored six in each of the first two in this series and have four or more in four of their last five.Comment -

Rockies Team Total Over 5 [-110]
Colorado continues to poor runs out at home. They have scored five or more in 17 of their last 21. Jason Berken goes for Chicago. This is just his third start. He was good in his last game, giving up no runs in six innings - but the opposition still scored five runs thanks to the bullpen. In his 1st start, he gave up six runs - just two earned. Cubs pen has a 5.13 road ERA. seven of their last ten have seen at least five scored for the opponents. Rain possible again, so just be warned about that.Comment -

Hoping the rain holds off in Coors or at least comes and goes away so they can complete the game. Was really miffed as missing the Cubs last night. Felt like that was the turnaround from a pretty crappy seven days or so in baseball. Played the game over too and doing the same tonight. Definitely think one or both teams score plenty to get into double digits again.
Forecast looks like rain could delay the start, but give them a window for a late start or completion. Gonna be chilly in Denver.Comment -

Corbin goes for Arizona. His road ERA stands at a robust 5.40. Eight of his nine road starts have seen the opposition score at least four runs. He has faced the Giants three times. Both home starts were solid, allowing one and two earned runs. At AT&T Park though, he was whipped for four earnies in an early September start. He's coming in off being bashed @ Coors Field for five earned in 3 IP. San Fran has scored at least four in seven of their nine games on the current home stand. Arizona has given up at least four in six of their last seven.

Hellickson goes for TB. His road #s have been solid. He has not started a game where more than four runs have been scored in ten of his 12 road starts. His road ERA is 2.93.
