Solid night, gained another unit and change. Another tough loss with the Rays losing in extra innings but it's not a big deal.

Nope, not using the computer yet. I am going to start using the computer on May 3rd. My units will raise then and so will the profits. Congrats on your success thus far.

Yet another extra innings loss for me as Brian "The Beard" Wilson blows it in the 10th inning. Unreal amount of bad beats so far this year.

Worst day of the season on Monday. Starlin Castro's three errors in the second inning led to three runs for the Rockies which ended up being the deciding factor in the Cubs game. Oh well, let's move on.

Exactly a week to go until I use my computer system (May 3rd). (And yeah, it's mainly stats/data/filters/excel, not some super-computer that I keep running 24/7. It just sounds cooler when I say computer system.) My goal is usually to be up around 15 units or so once I start using the computer. I'm looking decently well to hit the goal as of right now. Hopefully this will be a strong bounce back night. Good luck everyone.

Great bounce back night following my worst night of the season. I made back all the losses and added some profit as well.

Well, it was a profitable day. But guess what my lone loss was? Another damn extra innings loss. I think I'm about 1-10 or something like that in games with lead changes in the 9th and extra innings. Absolutely unreal. I can't really complain though, it was a good day overall.

                            Keep on keepin on Iced.

I like Cle, TB, Rockies, Ariz, Tor & Balt.

I want to wait on Cleveland to see if Hafner is gonna be out of the lineup again though.

The line movement is just telling me to take Arizona.

I like Ariz, LAA, STL, TOR, CLE, FLA. Might take CWS, but I'm not sure if they can pull out of this slump. Tillman sucks.

First day with the computer today. Padres are the only play I decently like. The rest of the plays I like, but not that strongly. My max play is about 10 units with the computer and this is one of the lower average unit days with the computer. So basically, the computer doesn't really like the plays too much today, but these are the best. Good luck everyone.

What I was doing from March 31 to May 2 was all personal handicapping with my own mind. I would check out basic stats and trends from websites like ESPN and StatFox and others, and my main focus was on the two starting pitchers of the game - and how they would perform in the match-up. I looked at a few other things as well, but I picked my plays mainly based on value and personal knowledge. The first month of the MLB season is somewhat hard for the lines makers to set good lines -- because there really hasn't been much baseball played. That makes it easier to find value in the early parts of the season -- which is why I am up so many units when I only played each game for one or two units a piece and I'm only hitting 50%.

After the first month of the season, the lines makers are able to adjust. The favorite and the underdog become more obvious as more games are played. The true winners are separated from the teams who went on lucky or unlucky streaks to start the season. Since there is more stats and data for the lines makers, there are more stats and data for everyone else. With this data, I create a projected line for each and every game. The biggest line difference between mine and the lines makers is always an auto-play for at least two units, unless there is an injury or pitching change or something like that. After that, I use a few different filters and my own capping to make some more plays (since the computer has value on essentially every play). My units are determined both by how the plays pass through each individual filter and my own personal feelings on the plays.

And like I said above, the plays today are pretty weak relative to the average unit size when I use the computer. Good luck though, hopefully that answers some of your questions.

And totals are determined by a completely different process, though it's still mainly with the computer.

If the Padres were able to win their game by two rather than push with a one run win, it would have been a great day. There are 16 games tomorrow and 5 of them are early games. I might not be able to post here if I have plays on the early games, but I will definitely post here for the late games.

Betting dogs are definitely more profitable earlier in the season Spartacuss, though I've never tried consistently betting the biggest dog of the day. If it has been profitable, I doubt it will last much longer as the elite of the league will separate themselves from the perennial losers as the season swings into full gear.
