I found this one. They state .....At a minimum, it provides a listing of the date and score of each game. They are zip files that are .txt files when zippped. When I opened one it opened in notepad and all data was bunched together. Check it out if you want. Maybe you can make sense of it.

Does anyone know a site besides covers.com who has archive M/L for MLB before 2007? Scoresand odds.com seems to stop at that point, and I can't find a replacement. I want to use two sites for these tests to gaurantee accuracy.

This one seems to have pretty much all box scores. You can look up box scores by team or year. Sometimes I needed to refresh the screen to get the page to load, just in case you have troubles.

Can someone explain how the dimeline odds work. I googled dimelines and understand that the difference is:

NYY -120
BRS +100

vs

NYY -120
BRS +110

But what does it mean if you say a sportsbook has a dimeline up to -199? Does that mean it would then be

NYY -200
BSR +100

Or does it mean (in theory)

NYY -200
BSR +200 vs (+210 with a dimeline)

?? Sorry I'm ignorant!

Yes they are my own picks. It's a very primitive system but has worked rather well for me the past 2 seasons. I just review the upcoming series, look at rpi, check pitching (make sure top 2 pitchers are starting in series) and make sure the team hasn't been on a long win streak (due for a loss) and then bet to win one game in the series. Kind of taking a page out of JM's system but not waiting for the sweep.
I've done it on a chase the past 2 years but this year I'll labby it and see if the results improve. The results were very good last 2 seasons even with 3rd game or [C] bet losses. I played enough series to where losses were expected but still ended up in the plus column. At some point I would like to refine it but for now still in the learning stage.

JM starts April 25th with MIL vs CIN unless another series comes in, in the future.

What kind of spreadsheet are you using to keep track of JM. With all this backtesting, I haven't had 5 minutes to spend on JM and setting up any kind of tracking system. I will be counting on you guys, for now, for the plays.

Working on it. Have you ever backtested a baseball system. With the complexity of money lines, and run lines, and single website's refusal to post them in one place, in list form. I have to use at least three different sites for each test, not to mention each site has different lines for most games. These take much much longer than the NBA, NFL, and for some reason, even the NHL. Not to mention there are twice as many games. It's not as simple as (# of wins x 1 unit - set # for loss = profit). If it was that easy, I would have been done weeks ago. I keep getting close, then there is that one bad season, and I have to start again. Would you rather I put a system up here that actually works, or just put something on here so we can have more action. Because if that is the case, I have five systems right now, four of which have plays today. I won't be playing them, but if people want action, I'll give them action. I have been working on this since the beginninng of March. If it happens soon then it happens soon. If not, then be rest assured, that when you see me post the system, it will work. You have no idea how much time I have put into this. I have a great system going right now. I have backtested several very successful seasons. However, included are two small losing seasons. I am trying to find a way to tweak it to make them all winning seasons, without reducing the very successful seasons too much. Every time I make a change, I have to backtest all years to see effects. Patience is key here. Believe me, just because I am not posting every day yet, I absolutely have not forgotten. I actually just stopped backtesting to write this and post Chase 110 results.

The team to bet on will always be on the left and if they are favored you bet them on the moneyline and if they are the underdog you bet them on the +1.5 run line. I'll post all plays as they come up and include rpi rating and any filters that may qualify. Every now and then I have to travel out of town for work so if that comes up I'll need some help but most times I can post from my phone. GL all

I expect this thtread to become very clogged and I don't want to confuse people with my plays as opposed to Morrison's. I'm on BAL, NYY and TEX.
