As you know, a baseball team contains a large number of players and only a fraction of them play at any time, so the individual player changes such as drafts, transfers and injuries during the off-season shouldn't significantly affect the team's overall performance in general at the beginning of a new season. However, I wouldn't place too much reliance on the accuracy of the RPI differential at the outset of the season.I was wondering does the RPI start at 0 when its the start of the baseball season or do they use the old season rating and continue from there? does the opponents's opponents weightage carry over too?

Looks like both Florida and LAA will be official plays tomorrow, and Toronto looks good to go for A Bet (Baltimore is unofficial) and if Balt. wins Toronto will be v3.0 on tuesday (B and C bets).

In the LAA game, there's been a pitching change, earlier the +1.5 run line was available, now LAA is the favorite, I guess if LAA lose by 1 run JM will still count it as a win, so I guess that to be safe you should get the ALT RL +1.5 IMO.

I dont know if I will play LAA because when they where the opener they started as dog with the +1,5 play available. This could be an important factor.

Ok just to give you guys a bit of an update here with whats going on since there where 2 official V.1 system plays tonight on the Marlins and Angels. The Marlins opened as Dogs so you should've taken the +1 1/2 at whatever price it was. Right now there holding on to a 3 - 2 lead in the bottom of the 7th so hopefully they hold the lead (or if they don't just lose by a run
). Now the Angels opened as dogs with Piniero pitching, but that line was quickly taken off the board and updated with Haren starting instead to them being favorites so I guess it was your choice whether to take the ATL RL or the ML, but either was we're looking good now because Boston just took a 4 - 1 lead in the bottom of the 8th so if things stay as they are now then the Angels will be an official B bet tomorrow night. Will update soon again.
