As for today I am liking the Magic, Nuggets and Pacers-but at my buy in prices close to tipoff. The Suns are in a good spot for a ML move also.

In CBB I don't see how Michigan is favored over Illinois other than a ranking. The Illini clearly have their number going 8-2 straight up vs the Wolverines. I figure by 3:30 or so my time the line will be up to Illinois+4 which suits me fine because I am going for the ML and not the points.

In totals you have the Memphis Tigers/UAB contest. The last encounter the total came out at 158.5 and the teams combined to go way over with a final of 100-77 Memphis win. So this one opens up at 161.5. I lined this game at Memphis-2 O/U 146.5.

In NBA news Donovan Mitchell will be OUT for the game today vs the Blazers and the Cavs are still favored by 11.5! Not saying the number will stay there-which is my buy in price-just something to be aware of

Damn...the NBA AWAY-2 was 11-4-0 (73.3%) going into last night's game between the Clips and Lakers. So it was a good number-just sometimes things don't work out. I was able to recoup some of it back in the second half so no sweat. If I had to do it all over again I would. Onwards and upwards

One thing that droves me up the wall is the fact that synergy wise the Hornets are on paper a team that should be much better than they are. This is a sign that they are poorly coached and are not giving enough effort on the court. I could see if they were injury riddled like the Jazz for instance-but they're not.

Anyway-the Hawks look to be up against it tonight facing the Grizzlies with or without Ja Morant. The Grizz are off of two straight attention getting losses and the Hawks have a defense like Swiss cheese. The oddsmakers responded by assigning this game with the highest total that I have seen this season (252.5)

On 12/14 the Thunder were -5.5 vs the Rockets. They did indeed blow them out 111-96. On 12/24 the Thunder were -1.5 vs the Rockets and took the loss 119 to 116. ON 11/8 the Thunder were -7.5 vs the Rockets and won in a blowout 126-107. The Rockets injury report has Amen Thompson, Dillon Brooks, Alperen Sengun, and Steven Adams all as questionable and Fred Van Fleet is listed as OUT with an ankle injury. Look for some late line movement if any of those players are listed probable.

Ok so the Kings are garnering a ton of joes money so far and the resulting number (-2.5's popping up) is a good one for the reeling Mavs who are at the point of desperation and could possibly be swept for the season vs the Kings. Granted the Mavs have injury issues but it's hard to ignore that the Kings are plying the type of defense right now in their last 3 games (97.3 PPG) that could turn this into a slugout-which favors the Mavs grind it out style. Their 111.7 PPG last three is skewed by a 132 points given up to the Bucks. In fact, they have played the Bucks, Warriors and Lakers within their last 4 games. the Kings have the Nuggets up next on the schedule so this is setting up to be a nice situation to buy while the Mavs stock is low

Damn...the Magic are getting such bad numbers...and they are not covering them as one would imagine. It sure would be nice for them to give McClung some time and take away some time from Cole Anthony. He is absolutely KILLING them with his poor shooting. He is listed as day to day-but unfortunately he participated in the morning shoot around. The production from the point guard position is what's keeping them from playing up to their potential. Jalen Suggs going down has wrecked them.

The Knicks were+4.5 and are now +3.5 with a majority of money (86%) on the Lakers. I will see where that line ends up at and play it if necessary close to tipoff.

I would also like to see the Rockets get up to -6 (part of me wonders aloud if the Pelicans are really this bad with a playoff caliber roster), and the Hawks to kind of stay where they are in the +2.5 to +4.5 range

I know. There are also landmines to avoid with teams tanking this time of the year in order to move up the draft board. It's March Madness time of the year now so my I can feel myself slowly starting to look in that direction more.

I have narrowed down the CBB numbers that I will be looking for; numbers that are good anywhere in any scenario. In my findings I was only able to find ONE decent underdog number that's an anywhere number (+4). No wonder most bettors end up at .500 at the end of the NCAA basketball season-it's like betting baseball in a way. Not many good numbers.
