Dayum! The Magic had the Warriors on the ropes last night and then ended up losing by margin. That was a tough one to watch! Onwards and upwards.

Good spot for the Knicks today. On paper the Heats look good-the only issue is that they have some of those weird scoring droughts like the Magic. Gotta think a bit on that one

Only one team in the NBA is in the top 10 defensively and is out of the playoff picture-which is a good party crasher profile to watch down the stretch as they are actually getting healthy. The Nets have the 8th ranked defense in the league and are now getting back Cam Thomas (their leading scorer before he went down with injury) D'Angelo Russel is out for a few days with an ankle injury-other than that they are at full strength. All that they need is some scoring and that would do the trick-look for me to get some often down the stretch of this party crasher

Amazingly the Kings can sweep their season matchup with the Rockets if they win this game on Saturday. Some teams just have your number. Speaking of numbers the Rockets were assigned a HORRIBLE number for the game with the only good number being 4.5 points more than assigned. Looks like a good ML opportunity should it be reasonable. I have it calculated at Rockets-190 or somewhere in that range.

With the Warriors coming from so far down it only stands to reason that the defensive energy put out in the game against the Magic will take it's toll on them-not saying that the woeful Sixers will win straight up-but they have a fighting chance to stay within an 8.5 spread if motivated to not get blown out at home.

The Bucks are also handed a terrible number and given the fortunes of both teams at this juncture almost all of the money will be on the Bucks. I will be looking to get one of my buy in numbers for the Mavs (+2.5 to +4.5) or (+5.5).

I think that I may put practice into theory and roll with the Nets. If the books will take the action then so can I. It's certainly a look ahead situation for the Pistons with a 4 game west coast trip on the horizon. I have them with a slim +0.8 margin over the Nets-making a moneyline a good shot if so inclined

Astros pitching staff is really good, and see them getting 90+ wins this season. Brown is going to turn into an All Star, and one of Arrighetti or Wesneski will break out. Blanco i dont like as much - advanced stats looks like the ERA will be closer to 4. Valdez is a consistent top of the rotation Ace.

Losing Tucker hurts, but they did pick up Walker to help protect Alvarez. One more good season out of Altuve.

Bingo! I tend to roll with teams when their stars are out-so I kind f chalked this one up in hopes that the Raptors would get it done-they gave up the RARE 4 point play to end up going into OT. Bad teams find unique ways to lose!

I actually like the Sailors to take that division (AL West). They didn't do much in the offseason because they really didn't have to, With a starting pitcher list that includes Bryan Woo, Luis Castillo, George Kirby, Bryce Miller and spot starts from Matt Brash; closer Andres Munoz? Are you serious? They have even picked up Ty Buttrey from the Halos-and he's down on the farm to start the season probably because the staff is so deep!

Arozarena, Mitch Haniger and Julio Rodriguez for a full season-the latter of which will get his numbers back up

Lazaro Montes and Hunter Cranton are some of my prospect stashed drafts. There isn't enough pages to describe the raw power Montes will bring up with him.

So I think that the Sailors and (drumroll please) Athletics will steal some games from the Astronauts. Any bullpen with Josh Hader closing for it is in for some interesting nights. Last season the Stros had 67 save opportunities and 26 of those got blown (61%). If he doesn't stop showing his back to hitters and simplify his movements they will have problems on the back end. Hader need s a changeup BAD.
