I asked this maybe a month ago. I believe DD said he had added several more filters to his reliever plays making them even more selective. But I feel like last season, even with less filters resulting in more plays, the results were even better than this year so far.

You are correct MB. I have also discussed that sometimes when I over analyze a play it bites me in the ass, so I start thinking simple angles, such as the Reliever angle works better. Always just trying to find the edge.

I think so also Mike, for at least a couple of reasons:

When you look at the entire game, more "pieces of the puzzle" have to come together. For example, when handicapping a total, you could have 2 good starters but the relief staffs are not rested and give up a ton of runs. Same is true on handicapping sides. The starter could pitch 7 perfect innings and he leaves and the bullpen looses the game.

I really think the edge lies in spitting the games and and finding the edge in each half.

Most books offer live play which would be an alternative after the 5th inning.
