#1158For several reasons, I'll list a few which I am sure some will disagree with:Originally posted by juicernameOh I hope this hasn't been asked already, but why do you not do pro basketball and football?

First and foremost, there is a reason many sports books, Vegas and Offshore, allow higher limits on the NFL and NBA games than on college. The reason, because good handicappers find it easier to beat college sports. One main reason is that there are more games and, for example, on some days there are 30+ college basketball games and since there are many games almost every night There is no way that every single line of every single game is where it should be, thus a sharp handicapper can find value. On the other hand, the NFL ines are up for week, and by game time they have been "massaged" to where they should be.

Another reason is personal. I don't like the NBA. I feel after the Jordan days the NBA has spiraled downhill. That's just my opinion.

Thirdly, the coaches in college hoops have a bigger influence on the players than the coaches in the NBA, and I think that's a handicapping edge. NBA Players are playing for their contracts and playing "not to get hurt". Whereas in college is generally played with more intensity.

I know there are some great NBA and NFL handicappers but I choose to stay out of that world. Of course I have handicapped the NFL and NBA in the past, but no longer. DDComment

 #1166Good afternoon,

FYI I'm about 2 miles from Wrigley and the wind is blowing out to right at 18mph and I guarantee it's gusting even higher. This does not guarantee an over but anything hit in the air is sure going to get a boost, IMHO

#1169DD, my local took away first 5 innings sides and totals. So I'm forced to only play your VMI. I know you moved reliever play to second half lines (also not available) but are you still using same criteria on those as before? If so I'm thinking I can just play the overs on the game total. ThanksComment

#1171Maaaannnnn, Double D I hate to say this but you have gotten way to difficult to follow.....your picks and plays are all over the place. I've understood and understand trying to find the edge of help people like myself to pick winners but I personally want the original Double dime back. You had a great system going on and with the high expectations you had coming into this MLB season, thru ups and downs....you didn't trust your own process and seems as your reaching with all these other plays a lot of us can't even play with our local bookie. Again i want to old double d back. Let me know if he's still around. Ps I still appreciate your time and effortComment

#1172That is certainly not my intention Click. Throughout the thread I think I have tried to explained some of the additions. For example, before the break I explained, and started posting, for tracking purposes only, the VMI plays and the xFIP plays. They showed good results, so after the All Star break I started posting them as plays. The only other change I made is making the Reliever Plays second half plays, simply because that's really what they're based on, the second half of the game. Playing them the second half eliminates getting beat by the starters pitching a great first five innings.Originally posted by Click_ClackMaaaannnnn, Double D I hate to say this but you have gotten way to difficult to follow.....your picks and plays are all over the place. If you want to go back to my original Reliever Plays, just play the entire game rather than the second half, even though I feel the value is splitting up the game into two parts. So today, play SD/Pit over 8 and Oak/LAA over 9 and you know have the the "old DD back" (How did you know I was old?

#1177Here are some reasons for two of the xFIP Plays

 Cards
 xERA STD: 3.28 Last 1: 2.51 Last 5: 2.60
 FIP STD: 3.90 Last 1: 2.42 Last 5: 3.08
 xFIP STD: 3.77 Last 1: 3.08 Last 5: 3.04
 Reds
 xERA STD: 4.48 Last 3: 4.37 Last 7: 4.28
 FIP STD: 5.47 Last 3: 3.71 Last 7: 5.44
 xFIP STD: 4.96 Last 3: 4.97 Last 7: 4.90

 Det
 xERA STD: 3.20 Last 3: 4.07 Last 5: 3.32
 FIP STD: 3.21 Last 3: 3.83 Last 5: 2.85
 xFIP STD: 4.21 Last 3: 4.75 Last 5: 4.17
 Balt
 xERA STD: 4.12 Last 3: 2.86 Last 7: 3.22
 FIP STD: 6.31 Last 3: 3.97 Last 7: 4.61
 xFIP STD: 4.96 Last 3: 3.36 Last 7: 3.91

You can see the Cards are stronger in all categories, and Det in most, yet Det is a nice dog.
