    Billdo's Just 4 Fun Picks
    Thought I would share a system I just started tracking. I attempt to pick every game on the slate. Occasionally two teams will end in a virtual tie, so I won't pick it. I only pick teams with an advantage. I've only been doing it since 5/15 and I did miss 5/17 due to travel. I'm not putting any money into it just yet, but thought it would be fun. I might even try to research it in prior years. The record so far:

                                                                  After noticing that this system dips every couple days, I decided to run some analysis on the results. Knowing that yesterday started a new series and it dipped again, I wanted to see if there was a difference between plays early in a series and later in a series. Sure enough, it seems to improve the longer into a series it goes. For the record, I go by days and count doubleheader days as one day, even though it's two games. The results:

                                                                  Day 1: 29-23, +7.94 units, +7.09% ROI, 0.497 z-score, p-value of 31.0%
                                                                  Day 2: 30-21, +17.04 units, +16.23% ROI, 1.121 z-score, p-value of 13.1%
                                                                  Day 3: 27-11, +38.53 units, +44.80% ROI, 2.759 z-score, p-value of 0.3%
                                                                  Day 4: 5-3, +1.02 units, +4.42% ROI, 0.136 z-score, p-value of 44.6%

                                                                  I also ran some analysis on the teams...just for fun. The top 10 moneymakers:

                                                                              Correct. Most teams tend to start a new series on the same day. For example, on the 5/29 picks, Toronto/Boston were on Day 3 of their series, Baltimore/Detroit and LA Dodgers/Chicago Cubs were on Day 2 of their respective series, while all the others were starting a new series on Day 1.
