    Good afternoon,

I am not a big fan of Mondays and Fridays, since it is generally the first day of a new series and there is limited home plate umpire information. Since that is one of many criteria that I look at, it is always better when it's available the rest of the series. Therefore, I try to limit my plays on Mondays and Fridays. Today however, we have some series that started yesterday so I do have limited umpire info on 2 of the plays and so we do have four plays for Friday:

    SD/Mil over 9 -115
    Min/Clev over8 -110
    Hous/Bos over 9 -105
    Tot/TX over 9.5 -115

    Good luck

          Good morning,

The regular play for Saturday afternoon:

          Hou/Bost over 10 -110

Some reasons: Relievers are not rested, starters high ERA and Whip, over ball park, over trends and slightly over weather (wind and air index). The home plate ump leans to the under, but I feel that won't be enough to keep it under.

          Back later with tonight's card

          Good luck

I got this 1st thing today...Over 9.5...just a small play, as I'm not very good with Overs (hit about 10% lifetime)

I'm curious about your method for the relievers. Particularly the SF/AZ game today. AZ has used its second tier relievers the last two games against SF, and SF had Cueto and Shark go deep in the last two games. No disrespect intended (your results speak for themselves), but I'm just curious if you looking just at bullpen IP or actually looking at who threw those innings.

Regardless, nice work in your thread. I particularly like this part.

I actually got 9.5 also but by the time I posted the "Regular Plays" it had moved to 10 so that is what I posted. Let's hope this is one of your 10%.

First of I always appreciate constructive comments. No disrespect taken.

It's all about the amount of time I have on a particular day. If I have the time I will dig down to see who threw over the last 3 days, but only if I have the time, since that is very time consuming. However, I always look at IP over the last 3 days, bullpen ERA and how a teams closers are doing relative to the rest of the league. If I really have a lot of time I will try to predict who a manager will use for a particular game, but I am not having great success with that, but I am hoping to improve this over the course of this season.

Feel free to add your comments about what relievers have been throwing for a particular team. It's valuable information.

I hear ya about the time issue. I was mainly curious whether you're using a purely objective criteria (bullpen x has pitched 12 innings the last 3 games) or if there is a subjective element in the Reliever Plays you've been posting. It sounds like there is a subjective element, but maybe I'm misunderstanding. When you post the Reliever Plays, do you filter out teams based on anything other than innings pitched?

The reason I ask is that I'm curious whether the data, without any "handicapping," is producing the 41-29 record you have so far with those plays. Thanks.

I actually forgot to add in my last response that I also factor in the amount of pitches over the last one and three days that the relievers have thrown.

My reliever plays are only based on relievers, no other filters. For example, there are many times that I see the wind blowing out to center at 20 mph and trends pointing to the over, but if my reliever data shows under, I will post under for the reliever plays. To answer your question, the reliever plays are without any other handicapping. My regular plays incorporate other filters/handicapping.

                                                  Good afternoon,

It happens every Monday........ I tell myself that since I do not have any umpire assignments, I will limit my plays but, once again I have all these other factors that point to a play, that I still wind up having a total of 3 plays for tonight. It is what it is.

                                                  Monday's Plays:

                                                  Adding:

                                                  TB/Tor over 8.5 -115
                                                  TX/Oak over 8.5 -105

                                                  Good luck

I have looked at that, but have been unable to find the umpires on the MLB site. Where are they?

On mobile they're in the box score once the game goes to "Warmup" status. About 10-15 minutes before first pitch. That put me over the top on the Cleveland over. Emmel is a cool 6-0-1 now in overs with his games averaging well over 10.

Once you see the Icon of the Baseball Diamond next to the score on the left side that tells you the lineup is in for both sides. So clicking on that opens the Game day app. Scroll down to the bottom and it will tell you which ump is in which place on the diamond.

So this would also give you a head start on the next days totals as the ump from first base would be behind home plate for game 2 the next day : )

The problem back then was I had to track the umpires for a couple years first, all by hand, to have some historical data on them. No computers back then. Now the info is readily available.

Last time I leaned Under in the Philly-Miami game it went Over just as you projected. I'm on the Under 7 in NYM game...saw some numbers and facts that really looked good for that.
