New Baseball Power Rating System

This spreadsheet is just what comes from the fastball software. I don't play the software straight up and simply use it as another tool when capping a game.
"(__) day win%" is the win% on the road or at home from the pt software and the "cover%" is the %chance of covering for each game.

Columns AV and AW are the results for plays discussed above with lines -175 to -350.

Anybody see anything wrong? If someone wants to send me their spreadsheet, I can compare and see what kind of data i'm getting different. I copy straight from the program into excel and let excel get grab the data and tell me who the play is on, so there shouldn't be any human error.

How about a record for fading Best Bets over -175, compared to taking Best Bets over -175 at the Run Line?

What were the 2 wins yesterday?

Only one I saw, and it was close (but squeaked in at -170 to -175), was DET.

All others I thought either had filter issues, or moved out of range or above the -175.


For today's plays are you just presuming that dogs are going to continue becoming larger dogs? Because I haven't seen the necessary lines anywhere other than possibly matchbook for the LAD game, nevermind as a consensus, on the first 3 games you list. Maybe I'm just looking in different places (I'm looking at covers MLB odds, therx free lines, and here at SBR MLB Odds). Or possibly, I still just haven't figured out the parameters.

I use SBR for lines. For EX: LAD is -120 and all you need is -115. Check the other lines. Of course they may change later.

With the projected line of CIN -110, and needing a 25 cent difference for there to be a play, my understanding was that CIN would have to go to either

-135 (-110 -25 = -135) for there to be a play on CIN

or

+115 (-110 +25 = +115), for there to be a play on LAD

What a terrific day. ML system went 5-0

BB went 1-1 but I noticed the -175 and over fav went 3-0. It seems everytime I watch it there is a winning day. Also the PT system went 6-4

Again I noticed the fav above -175 went 1-0 and 2-0, so I am not sure if the person who provided the win/loss records was correct. It just seemed every time I looked it seem to have won. When I have more time I will go back and check it.

I've been using the Software and been keeping track of the Best Bets from 5/1/10 and the PT Plays since 5/2/10. My book is not the greatest for Baseball as the lines are usually higher than others. The records do not include lines above -175 and indiciate a flat bet of $100 on each play

Best Bets = 50-42 -$517.65
PT Plays = 178-134 +$1,572.71

PT Plays have been solid. This is also with no capping, just playing ther games that the software indicates is a play.

All in all I think a person could make a nice profit using solely using the software PT plays
