Since when did Locke become Cy Young?
So glad I have St. Louis -1.5 at near even money instead of -199.

Milwaukee's a loser. Late steam at Pinny and first inning fail = fail.

Yeah, and I almost took that too. Hang in there ebb. Books have a great feel, but they aren't perfect and unfortunately, sometimes this shit happens -- especially when you're banking on inferior teams (as I'm learning all over again today).

good luck coiner, will still check the forums but gonna take a few months off, enjoy the summer, and maybe get back into it during football, if the off shore world is even still around than, and at that rate players talk will be more of a joke than it already is... if its even still around.... the continual close loses are just getting to the point of ridculousness...
tonight,
braves over 3.5 runs
under 5.5 ottawa/bruins
under 5.5 red sox
last sunday, mets over 3
before that mets blow an 8-2 lead vs the rockies..
its beyond laughable at this rate.. and i wont even dive into my college basketball season
keep crushing it

Happens to the best of us, ebb. There are times where I feel like this is all a crapshoot and we're just either getting lucky or not. I've definitely had days/weeks/runs where I felt like I was capping games better and paying more attention with worse results than the times where I go on heaters. Really hard to figure out -- then again, I'm not sure what we're doing is all that sane in the first place. We're trying to predict the future as best we can and apply logic and reasoning to an event filled of on-the-go unpredictability. And we put money on it. I don't know -- the more and longer I do this, the more illogical it seems to me. Yet I've been bitten by this bug....

It's sad, but true.
Lean Atlanta, Miami, San Fran, St. Lou, KC, Balty, Pittsburgh and possibly Oakland tonight. A's line seems dangerously low, though, even though it's bounced a little since last night.

It's true, but i'm not sure how sad it is. The world is a pretty boring place, or at least, it's a place filled with pretty boring people and doesn't offer a lot of great challenges (as proof, I reference any listing of the top 10 Nielsen-rated non-sports shows from, say, any period of time in the past decade or so). Now that I can no longer play hoops on a daily basis, other than going out drinking with my shithead friends and having a job that I like, there are only two things that I find to be persistently interesting: sports handicapping and golf (two realms in which you're effectively competing against the universe). Everything else is, more or less, some form of intellectual masturbation. Doing shit with my kids is pretty cool too, but let's be honest - no one wants to listen to other people talk about their kids (that's the definition of boring).
Put another way, I think that it would be a lot more sad if you were in some forum discussing, say, a reality tv series or celebrity social lives or [gasp] politics.

seems like an extremely cynical outlook.
lol at "my proof of the world being filled with extremely boring people is the top 10 Nielsen rated shows outside of sports."
lol at "everything besides sports handicapping and golf is intellectual masturbation"
unreal perspectives imo, carry on

Heh heh. Do you also love to laugh at your own jokes and hate it when people say "Really?"
You're a good shit, NC. Next time we head up to Motown for a gambling junket, i'm gonna have to buy you a beer. As for competing with the universe, it's the only way to go. Think big. When someone asks me who my biggest enemy is in the world, I say Oprah. Think big.

Network tv sucks. By definition, it caters to the stupid masses. If you like network tv (other than sports and maybe Modern Family and 60 Minutes and the like), you suck and are a member of the stupid masses.
You have a blank canvas to refute, notwithstanding your shitty reading comprehension skills. My position: outside of playing hoops, my job that i love, sports handicapping, golf and hanging out with my kids, yes, "everything else is, more or less, some form of intellectual masturbation." Refute away. You've paraphrased poorly but I have no doubt that you will debate even worse. For intelligent people, the world is pretty devoid of intellectual challenges: please refute. Sure, i love music too, but, e.g., listening to music is not an intellectual challenge.

That Miami line is a bit suspicious to me. For as horrible as they are, it seems like they should be a bigger dog against Harvey. They probably lose like 2-1 or 3-2. GL>
As for the NBA, I don't know if you saw my thread about the OKC/Houston game tonight but I wouldn't back OKC. It's either Houston or no play. For me that means no play. I'll just watch as a fan but I'm not very confident. This coming from a guy that follows the team daily and attends games.
I thought OKC would split the two games in Houston before Westbrook got hurt. I also feel like OKC will relax now knowing they have accomplished their mission. A few other things to consider:
Scott Brooks has a great opportunity to mix and match and manage people's minutes tonight with Westbrook being out. Even if OKC loses, I think it could be a good thing because that just gives Brooks another game to figure things out before round 2.
I feel like he will experiment a bit more tonight being up 3-0. Advantage Houston.
Also, I said Houston would probably cover more games than OKC this series and I still believe that. They probably win tonight and then cover game 5 but lose. They've been knocking on the door. They're not like the Bucks. They're good enough to get one at home.
GL.

Yeah, I'm not going to fade my team either. Durant might just say f*ck it and destroy them.
I would say that I think Houston wins this game in this situation more times than not though. GL.

I think I'm going to place a small wager on the Bulls first half over. Neither team can score, Heinrich is out, and the under is juiced. I'll take the play that doesn't make sense for some action.
