Best NFL prediction market sites reviewed

There are many prediction market apps to choose from when it comes to NFL trading. However, there are a few that stand out above the rest. Below, I highlight the five best NFL prediction market sites.

Kalshi

Kalshi is my favorite NFL prediction market app. As I discuss more thoroughly in my Kalshi review, it has the best market variety, plenty of trade volume, and minimal trading fees. The app is easy to navigate, and selling shares during live games is as simple as it gets. With Kalshi promo code SBR, you can also grab up to $500 in bonus funds, which can then be used to trade on NFL markets.

Polymarket

Polymarket is one of the only NFL prediction market apps that is available in all 50 states plus DC. But availability isn't the only strong suit of Polymarket. The platform also has one of the best fee structures of any app and one of the best prediction market promos, which gives new users $20 in bonuses after depositing $10 and entering Polymarket promo code SBR. The only real downside, which I highlight in my Polymarket review, is that all withdrawals must be done with crypto.

The app doesn't offer much in the way of banking methods, but it makes up for that with a deposit $10, get $25 welcome bonus. NFL prediction markets vs. sportsbooks

While NFL prediction market apps are similar to NFL sportsbooks, the two products are completely different. Below, I explain what it is that separates these two types of platforms.

Regulation

All of the best prediction markets apps are regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which means they operate at the federal level. This is why these platforms are available in most states. Sportsbooks are regulated by state gaming commissions, which strictly enforce rules limiting sportsbooks and sports betting.

Pricing

Sportsbooks list prices in American odds. For example, if the Cowboys are playing the Eagles, the Cowboys might be +110 to win, while the Eagles might be -130. However, odds on prediction market platforms aren't listed this way. Instead, prediction market platforms list implied probability, so that you know exactly how likely your trade is to be a success.

For example, that same Cowboys vs. Eagles game might list the Cowboys at 45% to win, while the Eagles are at 55%. These percentages directly relate to the cost of buying one event contract, at $0.45 and $0.55 in this example.

Live trading

In my opinion, this is the main area where prediction market apps really separate themselves from sportsbooks. At sportsbooks, you make a wager and are locked in until the event ends or you're offered an early cashout option. Generally, these cashout options are favorable to the sportsbook, not the bettor.

On prediction market apps, as long as your contract can still be successful, you'll always have the option to sell shares for a profit or cut losses early. Not only do you always have the option to sell your early, but odds are generally more favorable than at sportsbooks, as they simply reflect current market sentiment.

Like the best NFL betting sites, the top NFL prediction market sites offer a wide variety of markets, from game winners and player props to Super Bowl winner and MVP. Here's a look at some of the most popular markets and the benefits of trading them at prediction market apps.

Super Bowl winner

The Super Bowl winner is one of the most popular markets you'll find at any prediction market platform. In mid-August, this market had over $60 million of trade volume at Kalshi alone.

Odds change dramatically as traders react, and sometimes overreact, to weekly results. This is one of my favorite things about trading at prediction market apps rather than betting at sportsbooks. Oddsmakers at sportsbooks are more reserved when making price changes. Meanwhile, public traders at prediction markets tend to react to every win or loss.

If there's a major upset in Week 1, expect to see more valuable odds at prediction market apps than at sportsbooks for the favorite that lost. Check out the best Super Bowl betting sites for the latest Super Bowl odds.

Conference and division winners

Think you know who's going to win the AFC or the NFC East? Well, you can trade these markets at the best NFL prediction market sites as well. While these markets aren't as popular as Super Bowl winner, there is still plenty of volume.

One of my favorite things about trading these markets is that you can really use each team's schedule to your advantage. If a team starts 3-0 but had an easy schedule, you should be able to sell shares of them for a profit before their schedule gets harder.

Playoff qualifiers

This market is exactly what it sounds like. If you think a team is going to make the playoffs, you can trade Yes. If you don't think they're going to qualify, then you can trade No. Like with other futures, odds change dramatically from week to week, especially if a favorite is doing poorly or an underdog is doing well.

MVP and other awards

Prediction market apps allow you to trade on MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and more. These odds tend to fluctuate even more than teams odds, due to injuries, great games, and lackluster ones.

Win totals

While win totals are nothing new, one of my favorite things about prediction market apps is that you can take alternate totals for every team. Many sportsbooks limit you to wagering on whatever total their oddsmakers have set. For example, you can bet on the Lions to finish with more or less than 10.5 wins. However, at prediction market apps, you can pick Yes or No on the Lions to win 10+ games, 11+ games, 12+ games, and more.

Single game results

Single game results cover everything from a game winner, how much a team will win by, player props, team totals, and more. Because the NFL is the most popular sport in America, it's no surprise that prediction market apps provide plenty of markets for every single game, whether it's preseason, the regular season, or the postseason.

Yes, NFL prediction market sites are legal in the US. That said, not every app is available in every state. Additionally, many states are pushing back against prediction market apps, claiming that they are too similar to sportsbooks.

However, all five of the top NFL prediction market sites that I have reviewed above are regulated by the CFTC, allowing them to operate nationwide. While some platforms are less available than others, prediction market apps are still way more widely available than sportsbooks.

Be sure to check availability in-app by state to see if your preferred prediction market platform is available in your jurisdiction.

How to start trading on an NFL prediction market site

Getting started at an NFL prediction market site is simple. Here is everything you need to know from choosing a site to ultimately holding or selling your positions.

1. Choose a site

The first thing you need to do is choose a site. Any of the five I've discussed on this page is a great option for NFL trading. Explore each platform to determine which is best for you. And remember, there is nothing stopping you from registering and trading at multiple sites at the same time. You may want to open accounts at multiple spots in order to collect a variety of prediction market promos.

2. Register

After you choose a site, register by inputting personal information, such as your name, email, home address, and more. You will need to complete all of this info before you can withdrawal, so I recommend you do this sooner rather than later.

If an app requires a promo code to earn bonus funds, you will need to input it when prompted during registration.

3. Deposit

After registering, make your first deposit. Remember that the minimum deposit required to obtain a welcome bonus varies depending on the platform you're using. Make sure you understand how large of a deposit is required before completing registration.

4. Make your first trade

Head over to the NFL tab and find the market you're looking for. Purchase contracts for either Yes or No on your preferred market, then confirm your purchase.

5. Hold or sell

After making your trade, you can monitor your shares as their value increases and decreases. If you feel good about your position, then you'll want to hold onto your shares. However, if you feel things aren't going your way or you want to take profits, then you can choose to sell.

6. Withdraw

Once you have collected your winnings, you can request a withdrawal. Some platforms, like Polymarket, only allow for withdrawals via crypto platforms, while others allow for withdrawals in a variety of ways. Choose your preferred withdrawal method and colect your earnings.

How SBR rates NFL prediction market sites

To be considered one of the best NFL prediction market sites, a platform has to be well-rounded and excel in numerous areas deemed important by myself and the rest of the SBR staff. Here's a brief overview of what's most important when rating.

Market coverage

If an app has poor market coverage, then I won't recommend it. It's not just about covering the major markets like the Super Bowl winner, but it's also about markets such as "Which NFL team will finish with the worst record?" and more. The more markets offered, the better the rating in this category.

Liquidity

Having niche markets is great, but it means nothing if a platform doesn't have the liquidity to fill orders. Platforms that score high in this category are able to fill most orders, whether in mainstream markets or smaller ones.

Pricing and fees

SBR will only recommend platforms with fair pricing and transparent fees. All of the platforms I reviewed above are trustworthy in both these areas. Though some fee structures are undoubtedly better than others, each of the five platforms recommended above score highly here.

Live trading

Live trading is one of the major perks of using a prediction market platform. To score high, a platform can't charge exorbitant fees for live trades and must always offer the option to sell early.

Regulation

If a platform isn't CFTC regulated, no one at SBR will recommend it. Regulation is what makes a platform legal. Regulation ensures a platform is trustworthy and ensures you're protected should anything go wrong.

User experience and customer support

The last thing I want is to be frustrated when using an app. I look for apps that are easy to use, well-organized, and straightforward. I also want to know that if something goes wrong there will be a customer support team there to help me. If I can't get through to a real person and am stuck discussing my problems with an AI chat bot, then a platform won't score high in this category.

Responsible trading

Though prediction markets are different from sportsbooks, the risk of losing real money is still there. You must keep this in mind while trading. Make sure you set limits for yourself and don't chase losses. Buying contracts at a prediction market platform is an investment, and just like with the stock market, some investments don't pan out.

If you feel that you have lost control or are no longer enjoying your time on a platform, you can check out their responsible trading tools or call one of the following nationwide helplines:
