ProphetX summary

The following table provides a brief overview of what I will be dissecting in this ProphetX review. On this page, I'll also highlight how you can use ProphetX promo code SBR to trade $10 and get $20 in bonus funds.

Current ProphetX access note

ProphetX is federally regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). This means that the platform is not under the oversight of state gaming commissions, allowing it to operate in almost every US jurisdiction. The only state where the app is unavailable is Nevada.

That said, other states have begun filing legal action against prediction market apps, attempting to shut them down statewide. However, at this time, CFTC regulation continues to take precedence, and very few states have seen even a slight amount of progress in their legal recourse.

Current ProphetX bonuses & promotions

The current ProphetX welcome bonus allows users to trade $10 and get $20 in bonuses. This makes it one of the best prediction market promos. For example, the OG promo code dishes out just $10 in bonuses after $10 in trades, while the Kalshi promo code also awards $20 in bonuses but requires $20 in trades.

The only other bonus available at ProphetX at this time is a refer-a-friend bonus. Simply share your registration link with a friend. Once they make an initial deposit of $50, both parties will receive a $25 credit. Best of all, you'll receive $5 more for every person you refer, up to a maximum of $50 per referred party.

How ProphetX works

ProphetX hasn't reinvented the wheel, as using the platform will feel very familiar to those who have already started trading at Kalshi or used the Polymarket promo code.

To get started, all you need to do is register. To do this, you'll need to create an account and provide some basic personal information, such as your date of birth and full legal name.

Once you've registered, you'll be able to fund your account and purchase and sell contracts related to specific real-world events. At this time, only sports contracts are available on ProphetX. Simply search for the market you wish to trade, purchase contracts, and watch your investment increase and decrease over time.

When an event ends, all contracts will either settle at $0 or $1, depending on whether you purchased the correct or incorrect side. What makes ProphetX and other prediction market apps enticing, aside from wide availability, is the ability to cash out at any time, so you can withdraw winnings early or cut your losses.

What is ProphetX?

ProphetX is a prediction market platform that operates similarly to a stock exchange. Users buy contracts tied to real-life events at prices set by the market. Every contract is either Yes or No.

For example, if you believe the Cowboys are going to beat the Giants, you will buy Yes contracts backing the Cowboys to win. If you buy 100 contracts priced at 60 cents each, and the Cowboys win, then you'll earn a profit of 40 cents for each contract you own. Meanwhile, those who purchased No contracts will have their positions settle at $0.

Prediction market apps don't set prices. Instead, users do. This is one of the biggest differences between prediction market platforms and traditional sportsbooks. Traders aren't purchasing against the house; they're purchasing against other users.

While this is generally a good thing, it can sometimes cause liquidity problems, making it hard to fill some orders.

Website and ProphetX app experience

The ProphetX website is very easy to navigate, with a homepage full of upcoming games. You'll also find a list of all available leagues in the sidebar, which makes it easy to find the sport and game that you're looking for.

Unlike many prediction market apps, ProphetX does have a banner that displays available bonuses and how to withdraw and deposit.

The app is almost identical to the website. The only real difference is that rather than a sidebar, all available sports can be found by clicking "sports" at the bottom in between "home" and "account."

In many ways, the ProphetX app is cleaner and less cluttered than what you'll find from top prediction market platforms. However, that is also because ProphetX offers fewer markets.

Markets available

Available markets is one area where ProphetX lags behind the competition. While many platforms take advantage of the fact that they can offer markets outside of sports, you won't find any of those options available at ProphetX. We will update this page if markets related to weather, pop culture, politics, or crypto become available in the future.

As for the available sports markets, you'll find game results, player props, and futures for all the major leagues and sports, including tennis and golf.

Popular trade types

There is no shortage of available markets for every sport that ProphetX offers. For the MLB, you'll find moneylines, run lines, total runs, first five inning plays, players props, and more. 

This variety extends to other sports, giving users the option to trade contracts related to who they think will win or take it a step further by purchasing contracts related to spreads, totals, alt lines, and player props.

There are also plenty of futures available for every major league. Additionally, you'll find specials nearly every day. These specials include questions such as "Will there be a grand slam?" or "Will there be a triple-double?"

Settlement, resolution & payouts

After you've picked a winning side, you'll want to receive your earnings in a timely fashion. Thankfully, this isn't a problem at ProphetX.

While some apps struggle with timely payouts for markets related to politics and pop culture, ProphetX doesn't have to worry about such issues. While having only sports markets available is a negative overall, it does mean that results are straightforward and most settlements occur almost immediately upon the conclusion of an event.

That said, some contracts can take a few hours to settle, especially if they're related to stats that can be adjusted after a game is over. If you sell contracts before a game resolves, funds will be available immediately.

Though disputes are rarely needed, there are times when you may feel that your contract was resolved improperly. In these instances, you can contact ProphetX's helpful customer support team. 

Most disputes are resolved within 30 days, although typically much faster. 

Liquidity, odds quality & limits

Liquidity is a bit of an issue at ProphetX, but the platform is having way fewer problems than when it first became a prediction market app. Though liquidity for major events isn't nearly as high as what you'll find at Kalshi or Polymarket, as long as your trading desires aren't too niche, you should have no trouble having your order filled.

For example, if you're looking to trade that the Dodgers will beat the Giants, liquidity is unlikely to be an issue if you're backing the Dodgers' moneyline or the run line. However, if you want to trade the Dodgers to win by a larger margin, such as six runs, you may have a harder time filling your order.

Odds are fair across the board at ProphetX. As is the case with many prediction market apps, sometimes odds are better at ProphetX, and sometimes they're worse. However, I've yet to find odds that are so different from other major platforms that I either feel like I'm being cheated or getting an amazing deal.

Customer support & trust signals

Though ProphetX doesn't have live chat assistance, it is very easy to get in contact with customer support. You can call support at 570-707-7912 or email hello@prophetexchange.com. There is also a form you can fill out if you prefer to go that route.

Support is available between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST, every day of the week. Responses generally happen within hours, as long as you submit during normal business hours. 

You can also visit the Help Center, which has FAQs related to various topics, such as account information, markets and offering, and more.

The ProphetX iOS and Android apps each have 4.8/5.0 and 4.4/5.0 ratings, respectively (from over 3,600 combined reviews), making ProphetX one of the best and most trustworthy apps on the market. 

Fees, funding, and withdrawals

While some prediction market apps use formulas to determine fees, ProphetX keeps it simple. There is a 2% commission fee on all net winnings. However, parlay trades don't have any fees.

This method has pros and cons. For one, it's great that fees aren't imposed on every trade, as is the case at many sportsbooks. However, with 2% commission fees on every winning trade, traders are much more heavily punished for taking long shots than they are at other platforms. 

Another downside of using ProphetX is that, at this time, you can only make deposits and withdrawals with online banking via Aeropay and cryptocurrency via Zerohash. Wire transfers are also available.

Is ProphetX legal?

Yes, ProphetX is legal in every state except for Nevada.

This means that even users in states where traditional sportsbooks are illegal can use ProphetX. The app does not operate in a legal gray area but rather is overseen by the CFTC at the federal level.

Who should use ProphetX?

ProphetX is perfect for users in states where traditional sports betting is illegal. While sportsbooks are available in a few dozen states, ProphetX is available in 49, meaning residents of states like California and Texas can use it legally. 

While ProphetX doesn't offer any markets related to pop culture, politics, or cryptocurrency, there are plenty of sports markets available. Therefore, I recommend the app to those looking for deep trading options related to specific games, leagues, and future sporting events.

Banking options: deposits & withdrawals

Deposit and withdrawal options are sparse at ProphetX. At this time, the only available options are online banking via Aeropay, cryptocurrency via Zerohash and wire transfers. This means that you won't find credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, PayPal, or any of the other banking methods that are available at many other prediction market platforms.

Responsible trading and risk warning

Before beginning your journey at ProphetX, it's important to understand that there is a chance that you will lose money. Making financial trades comes with inherent risk, and you should never spend more than you're willing to lose.
