Anyone else see the utter hypocrisy of this suit?
The House approved the resolution to sue in a near party-line vote, 225-201. It authorizes House Speaker John A. Boehner to file suit in federal court on behalf of the full body “to seek appropriate relief” for Obama’s failure to enforce a provision of the Affordable Care Act that would penalize businesses that do not offer basic health insurance to their employees. - See more at: http://readingeagle.com/ap/article/h...hecks-balances.

Repubs tried to repeal the ACA 50 + times, called for Obama to extend the employer mandate for a year, does
and they sue him over it? WTF!

When are these wing dings going to learn? This is a bad time to do this, especially when mid terms are coming up.
Are they trying to lose their seats on purpose?

Someone please explain this madness, 'cause I don't get it.

There are about 100 things they could go after Obama with...but this one has me stumped too.

I guess they want to stir up their base, but I think the Dem base will now get more motivated than the RNC base

I just wish everyone didn't have an agenda.
I wish there were more down the middle moderate independents like me.
    Truly a head scratcher

After the dust settles and the fraudulent votes are counted I think the Dems lose seats in the senate, but hold power.

    Nate Silver will be wrong

I believe the tea party faction is destroying the Repub party of old. They should really focus on their own party
dysfunction before suing/ impeaching anyone. This suit seems like a last ditch attempt to save face, but it looks like
they are owned by the playground bully and are tattle tailing to the teacher.

RK, what about when the minority Democrats tried to sue GWB? Did you feel the same way or it was ok that time? For the record, I think they are both are stupid law suits

          Palin & Bachmann are clowns
Too many extreme right views in Tea Party.

As a moderate independent, I like things to be down the middle or close to the middle...
          not extreme either way

Don't remember that. I'll have to do a little research. Thanks for the enlightenment.

By Jim Abrams, The Associated PressWASHINGTON -- Thirty-one House members filed suit against President Bush Tuesday in an effort to block the president from withdrawing from the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.
The United States officially leaves the treaty on Thursday, six months after Bush announced his intentions to do so. The Pentagon plans an earth-breaking ceremony on Saturday at Fort Greely, Alaska, to begin construction on the first portion of a new missile interceptor system.
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, the lead plaintiff, said the president does not have the authority to unilaterally withdraw from a treaty and should first seek the consent of Congress. "The Constitution of the United States is being demolished, and we need to challenge that in court," he said.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, also names Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Colin Powell as defendants. The plaintiffs are all Democrats, except for one independent who usually votes with Democrats.
It states that while the Constitution is silent on the role of Congress in treaty terminations, treaties have the status of "supreme law of the land" equivalent to federal laws and that laws can be repealed only by an act of Congress.
"I am troubled that many in Congress appear willing to cede our constitutional responsibility on this matter to the executive branch," said Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis. He tried unsuccessfully Monday to bring a resolution to the Senate floor stating that the president cannot withdraw from the treaty without Senate approval.
Kucinich last week tried to get the House to vote on a similar resolution, but House Republicans unanimously rejected a motion to bring the issue to a vote.

Pelosi threat to sue Bush over Iraq bill
                Source: The Hill

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is threatening to take President Bush to court if he issues a signing statement as a way of sidestepping a carefully crafted compromise Iraq war spending bill.

Pelosi recently told a group of liberal bloggers, “We can take the president to court” if he issues a signing statement, according to Kid Oakland, a blogger who covered Pelosi’s remarks for the liberal website dailykos.com.

A lawsuit could be seen as part of the Democrats’ larger political strategy to pressure — through a series of votes on funding the war — congressional Republicans to break with Bush over Iraq.

Lawmakers have tried to sue presidents in the past for taking what they consider to be illegal military action, but courts have rejected such suits.

It is a start. Now if we can just move him from the civil court over to the criminal court, we will really be getting somewhere.

The premise of the thread (as I can see) is the hypocrisy involved to spend time/effort/money trying to block or kill something, then to sue because it wasn't implemented. Both sides threaten lawsuits all the time.

Threatening to sue for pulling out of a treaty would be hypocritical if Kucinich had been trying for years to get the US to pull out of the treaty, then after failing to, sued because Bush did it.

                      yes it is actually.

Fact: if the Bears beat the Jaguars 14-13 or 55-6 it's still a win in the standings.
Fact: If you drown in a bathtub or in the middle of the deepest ocean, you still drowned. You didn't drown any less in the tub.
Fact: you guys always want to spin shit around no matter how foolish you make yourself look.

Thanks Dwight for doing the grunt work. Had to go to work. Very enlightening.

In this case, I was trying to show the hypocrisy. That's what the suit is filed under, but Boner is saying the Pres
is over stepping his bounds and not obeying laws they wrote. I still call it cry babying no matter who does it.
