The "Cristiano Ronaldo" weekend, because how else do you want to call it, is actually for Premier League also the matchday for one of the best tactical face-offs around: Leeds-Liverpool is charged with a rivalry that faded away in the last two decades, but it's most of all Bielsa vs. Klopp.

Leeds vs. Liverpool

Sunday, September 12, 2021 - 11:30 AM EDT at Elland Road

Don't be misled by Leeds' start, only 2 points in 3 games and 15th of the table. It can happen when you bounce back from a surprising season and you aren't accustomed to elite football. Also, there is possibly a little less intensity from Leeds compared to last season. Anyway, the international break has affected much more the others than Bielsa's, so more time to glue the team is absolutely what they needed.

Unfortunately, there is Liverpool in front of them, whose only draw was against Chelsea. True, they played an entire half being one man up, but Chelsea are in total confidence so it isn't a shame not having won in that condition. Reds seem on the road to recovering all their hard rock football, surely will suffer in the big clashes the departure of Wijnaldum, but they don't look anymore as a team struggling to play at their best, as they did in the entire past season.

There will be pure football, cause possibly the best thing of Klopp and Bielsa is that they never renounce to their identity just to adjust to their rival, and especially when they face a colleague they hold in great consideration like these two do to each other. But Liverpool appears too much ahead of Leeds at the moment, and surely that draw picked against Chelsea in favorable conditions has left some frustration to short back the way to the leadership of the table.

Man United vs. Newcastle

Saturday, September 11, 2021 - 10:00 AM EDT at Old Trafford

Cristiano Ronaldo had saved the last game of Portugal to arrive at his best for the historical comeback. Newcastle is soft enough to be crunched easily and this is what will happen. The only doubt is whether if CR7 will start or will come from the bench, not only out of respect for who has been there already before him but also to give him the most theatrical entrance with the whole Theatre Of Dreams standing up for him at the minute 55', likely.

Poor Newcastle, but United already looked great, so this is actually only a heavy cherry on top of the cake. Cavani and the others anyway will not want to look like someone living awaiting the epiphany, so if Cristiano won't start then you can be sure that they will want to hammer the game from the very beginning also for the sake of their own pride.

Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham

Saturday, September 11, 2021 - 07:30 AM EDT at Selhurst Park

Nuno Espirito Santo has been given a chance he was not supposed to have, but that he definitely was supposed to deserve. And he is playing it at its best, exploiting the attention addressed to other big clubs, and normalizing the mayhem around Harry Kane, which was definitely the most difficult thing to deal with. Tottenham are already the only leader, and can actually very very easily go 4 on 4, as Crystal Palace collected only 2 points and wasn't able not even to defeat Brentford at home.
