  • Over/Under: Under 2.5 (+158 via FanDuel) ★★★

Liverpool vs. Manchester United ATS Pick

Liverpool -1.25 (+125)

While the results for last season's runners-up have been less than ideal to start the 2022-23 campaign, they're averaging 1.5 goals per game, while United's solitary score was an own goal courtesy of Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister on the opening weekend.

The Reds will be without Darwin Nunez, but have other scoring powers in Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino, who can help out in the Uruguayan’s absence, on top of 2021-22 Golden Boot co-winner Mohamed Salah.

The Red Devils have had very little momentum in their offense and last year’s top scorer  Cristiano Ronaldo has registered just two shots on goal this season.

The Portuguese star has averaged a goal every 393 minutes against Liverpool in his Premier League career (two goals in nine apps) – of teams he's played against five-plus times in the competition, only against Chelsea (793) does he have a worse minute per goal ratio.

Ronaldo's compatriot, Diogo Jota, has been directly involved in four goals in his last three Premier League appearances against United (two goals, two assists), while he’s scored in both of his league games at Old Trafford since signing for Liverpool (two goals).

Liverpool vs. Manchester United O/U Pick

Under 2.5 goals (+154)

Neither team has scored more than two goals in a game this season, let alone won a match, and while Liverpool pose more of a threat going forward, they've struggled against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

United’s attack runs through Ronaldo, primarily, though they do have Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes in their ranks.

However, since scoring a brace against Liverpool in a 2-1 win in March 2018, Rashford has only scored twice in his last seven Premier League games against the Reds.

United have lacked chemistry in their subpar performances this season, which is why the books have Liverpool as heavy favorites.

Jugen Klopp's men may get another two-goal game out of a weak United, an opponent they've dominated, but neither team has shown the form to suggest there will be goals galore in this match.

Liverpool vs. Manchester United Prop Pick

Both teams to score goals: No (+130)

No Manchester United player has scored yet this season, while Liverpool house some of the best full-backs in the world, as well as Virgil van Dijk, on their back line.

Jurgen Klopp has not lost to Manchester United in the regular season since 2018, and the last two occasions the teams have met, Man U were shut out, losing 5-0 in October of last season and another 4-0 stomping at Old Trafford in April.

Their history against Liverpool combined with their less-than-ideal start to the season, and inability to create any chances on the attack make it more than likely that United will see another scoreless game to start off their 2022-23 campaign.
