Matchweek 10 kicks off at Goodison Park on Friday (3 p.m. ET, USA Network), and I’m backing the Toffees to secure all three points in my Everton vs. Coventry prediction.
Along with backing Everton, the -145 betting favorite, I have my eyes on the Under. Thierno Barry has been playing well recently, and the Frenchman is the focal point of my third and final pick.

Everton vs. Coventry best bet

Everton ML (-145 via FanDuel)
It’s a match tailor-made for an Everton victory, as Coventry have the second-worst away record, taking three points from 12. Coventry’s lone away win came against a Nottingham Forest side that have taken one point from four matches at City Ground, the worst home record in the top flight.
Everton’s only defeat in four matches at Goodison Park came against Chelsea.
Otherwise, the Toffees won two and tied one, beating Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace. I like how David Moyes’ crew plays at home against perceived lesser opponents, and I expect a similar outcome to their victories against Ipswich and Crystal Palace.
🆚 Who will win Everton vs Coventry?
I’m backing Everton to beat Coventry 1-0. Everton are solid at home, particularly against newly promoted sides, while Coventry have struggled on the road.
Score prediction: Everton 1, Coventry 0

Under 2.5 goals (+116)
Four of Everton’s previous five top-flight matches had two goals or fewer, including the previous three. While that stat helps, I’m more compelled by how Everton plays at home against teams they should beat.
The Toffees kept clean sheets against Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace, and they face a Coventry side that has scored the fewest away goals (2) and expected goals (8.3).
Everton, meanwhile, aren’t as ruthless in front of goal as their expected goals indicate, with nine goals from 12.4 expected goals.
Thierno Barry anytime goal (+135)
As is customary, it took some time to adapt to the Premier League. With three goals in his last five Premier League matches, it feels like Barry is hitting his stride in his first season in England.
Barry has four goals in nine top-flight appearances, all against teams with a profile resembling Coventry’s. He netted against Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, Hull City, and Newcastle, but failed to score against the perceived big boys.
At home against a Coventry side just above the relegation zone feels like an ideal opportunity to add to his goal haul.
