A pair of Pacific Division heavyweights are set to collide when the Edmonton Oilers invade Sin City to battle the first place Vegas Golden Knights. Here are our Oilers vs. Golden Knights picks based on the best NHL odds.

Winners of four straight and eight of their past nine, the Golden Knights’ last triumph actually came against the Oilers with a 4-3 overtime victory in Edmonton on Saturday night. Jack Eichel racked up a goal and two assists, and goaltender Laurent Brossoit stopped 27 shots to secure the win.

The Oilers head into this matchup fresh off a 5-4 win over the lowly Arizona Coyotes on Monday night. Connor McDavid posted his 80th assist and 140th point of the season, becoming the first player to reach 140 points since Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr reached the mark back in 1995-96.

With that in mind, here is our best Oilers vs. Golden Knights NHL pick (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

With almost every sportsbook listing the goal total at 7, there’s definitely some value in backing Over 6.5 with FanDuel. The Oilers are the highest scoring team in the league, averaging nearly four goals a game at 3.92. The Golden Knights’ offense isn’t quite as terrifying, but they score at a clip of 3.26 goals per game.

After a 5-4 win Monday night, the Oilers and their opponent have combined for seven-plus goals in five straight games and seven of their past eight outings. Not to be outdone, the Golden Knights and their opponent have scored a combined seven-plus goals in six of their past seven games.

In fact, these two teams had a seven-goal total in their last matchup on Saturday, and I expect more of the same Tuesday night.

As mentioned earlier, most sportsbooks are listing the total at 7. If Saturday night’s game between these two clubs is any indication, they’ll reach the seven-goal mark. This makes FanDuel’s 6.5 total a worthwhile choice to make.

Oilers vs. Golden Knights odds analysis

The Oilers opened as a -117 favorite, and that number hasn’t moved much, ranging from -115 to -130 depending on the sportsbook. As such, there is some value in backing the underdog.

The Golden Knights are red-hot and enjoying some home cooking, while Edmonton is going to be the road squad in the second game of a back-to-back. This means a Vegas +100 moneyline wager at Caesars Sportsbook is definitely a smart play.
