The Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Boston Bruins for Game 1 as the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin Saturday, and we have our best Maple Leafs vs. Bruins player props using the best NHL odds

Get ready for an intense matchup on Saturday evening as the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins reignite their playoff rivalry after a five-year hiatus. The Maple Leafs, boasting the fourth-best road points percentage during the regular season (.659), aim to carry that success into Game 1. The action kicks off at 8 p.m. ET at Boston's TD Garden.

The Bruins won all four regular-season matchups against the Maple Leafs, with the final two games ending in 4-1 scores. However, Boston's victories in the first two games came after a shootout and overtime. Like the Florida Panthers, the Bruins ranked 10th in home points percentage (.659) during the regular season.

Accompanying our Eastern Conference Betting Preview, here are our best Maple Leafs vs. Bruins player props and NHL picks (odds via our best NHL betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Maple Leafs vs. Bruins prop bet predictions for Saturday

Under 5.5 goals ⭐⭐⭐

Three of the four regular-season encounters between these teams featured five goals, going Under the 5.5-goal threshold. There were seven goals in the other contest, which was a 4-3 Bruins victory.

The Maple Leafs struggled to muster much offense against the league's fifth-best defense, scoring more than two goals just once in the four tilts against their loathed rivals. The Maple Leafs lit the lamp just once during both of the final two games.

The Bruins pride themselves on a smothering, suffocating defensive approach. Eight of their last nine contests to end the season went Under 5.5 goals. For the Bruins to win, they must keep things tight, especially at home.

Jake Debrusk Over 0.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jake Debrusk circles each game against the Maple Leafs on his calendar, salivating at the thought of inflicting pain both physically and on the scoresheet. He registered six points against Toronto across four regular-season games, notching at least a point in each contest. The 27-year-old tallied four points in the last two games versus the Maple Leafs.

Debrusk is a role player who usually saves his best for the playoffs, particularly in crucial Game 1s. He'll want to set the tone early, increasing his chances of securing at least one point.

DraftKings offers the leading value of our best sports betting apps at +124. bet365 and BetMGM offer +120, while Caesars is at +111 and FanDuel sits at +110. A winning $10 bet at DraftKings pays a profit of $12.40 with an implied probability of 44.64%.

Best odds: +124 via DraftKings

Brad Marchand Over 0.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brad Marchand has been an impossible-to-extract thorn in Toronto's side for years. Don't expect the Maple Leafs to magically rid themselves of the pint-sized terrier anytime soon. The Bruins' captain doesn't put up points like he once did, but Marchand can still notch a goal or a helper in a flash.

Marchand tallied four points in as many games against Toronto, getting at least one in three of four. He's logged 128 points in 146 playoff games, and the veteran usually steps up in the most pivotal contests.

The diminutive maestro is still a mainstay on the team's first power-play unit, too. And when you share the ice with David Pastrnak, securing a single point isn't too much to ask.

At -133, BetMGM offers the best value, albeit marginally. DraftKings is posting -135, while FanDuel (-150), Caesars (-145), and bet365 (-140) are further down the totem pole. A $10 winning bet at BetMGM pays a profit of $7.52 with an implied probability of 57.08%.
