A pair of AFC South teams will compete for their first victory of the 2026 NFL season Sunday as I make my Texans vs. Titans prediction.

The Texans' defense is shockingly a bottom-five unit, while Titans QB Cam Ward has avoided costly turnovers at home throughout his short career. The Texans are a 7.5-point betting favorite, with kickoff at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., set for 1 p.m. ET (CBS).

Texans vs. Titans prediction & best bet

Titans +7.5 (-110 via BetMGM)

The Titans are 2-2 ATS in 2026. Ward has led them down the field with minimal miscues. However, a glaring interception thrown on the road against the Giants on the final possession of the game kept the Titans from getting a win in Week 3.

C.J. Stroud has not had the benefit of a strong Texans defense to back up his play this year. Houston has a bottom-five scoring defense, surrendering 27.3 points per game and only forcing turnovers against one opponent.

Ward has rookie wideout Carnell Tate and OC Brian Daboll to prop him up in a favorable matchup at home. Tennessee has covered +7.5 in 3 of 4 contests this season.

Let's grab the points with the Titans as a full-touchdown underdog at home. Bet Titans +7.5 at -115 odds on BetMGM.

📡 SBR Edge: Houston, We Have a Covering Problem

The Texans are 0-4 ATS in 2026.

Titans ride offense and stout defense to first win

Houston's defense will have head coach DeMeco Ryans calling the plays on Sunday. That's not going to be enough to help the Texans, since they have not been good at forcing turnovers or stopping the pass.

On the other side, Titans star DT Jeffery Simmons leads a stout defense, helping Tennessee rank ninth in scoring this season. No team has scored more than 24 points or gone over 300 passing yards.

Ward and the offense will have opportunities to score, while the Titans' defense pressures Stroud into bad decisions. Tennessee emerges victorious in this winless AFC South tilt.

Score prediction: Titans 27, Texans 19
