The red-hot Las Vegas Raiders are hoping to keep things rolling at home against the New England Patriots in Week 3 of the NFL preseason. Here are our best Patriots-Raiders picks to make ahead of Friday’s matchup.

It’s been a preseason full of optimism for the Raiders. Going 3-0 so far, including the Hall of Fame Game, has definitely been a bright spot, but what’s even more exciting is the play of some lineup hopefuls. Several rookies and depth players, at both running back and wide receiver, have stepped up and made huge plays. All of the bench quarterbacks have been on the money as well.

There’s been a lot to like at Patriots camp too — a lot that isn’t showcased by their 1-1 record. Their backup quarterbacks have played sufficiently, and several depth wide receivers have had phenomenal performances. Those include undrafted wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson who had eight receptions for 99 yards in a heartbreaking 23-21 loss to the New York Giants in their preseason opener.

Here are our Patriots-Raiders NFL picks for preseason Week 3 (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook).

Patriots vs. Raiders Odds Analysis

The Over/Under for this game is toward the lower end of average – opening at 38 before slightly dropping to 37. A significant consensus of football bettors are banking on the Over, with 91% of the tickets and 82% of the cash wagered on that outcome.

The spread has also moved very little — initially favoring the Raiders at -3 before dipping to the current line of Raiders -1. The tightening of the line has come despite 72% of the tickets and 79% of the cash being on Las Vegas to cover.

Pats Raiders 826

Patriots vs. Raiders ATS Pick

Raiders ML (-120)

Things have certainly been looking up for the Raiders all preseason long — especially during a pair of joint practices with the Patriots earlier this week. New England has really struggled to consistently generate drive-to-drive offense since the start of camp. The Patriots' run game has been non-existent and that was reiterated by several blocks and run stuffs by the Raiders defensive line during scrimmages. There have been a few silver linings in Foxborough so far, but New England will be in tough against a Las Vegas team that has been firing on all cylinders.

Pats QB Mac Jones may see a few reps again, but that might not make much of a difference as the Pats’ running backs and defense simply look outmatched. Raiders backup Jarrett Stidham will likely see the majority of snaps under center following the trade of Nick Mullens. Stidham has completed 25 of 40 pass attempts for 244 yards without a touchdown or interception through three games.

Patriots vs. Raiders O/U Pick

Over 37 (-110)

Picking the Over in this tilt seems like a no-brainer. The Patriots have managed to rack up at least 20 points in each of their first two contests, and the Raiders are likely to contribute even more as they’ve averaged nearly 23 points per game.

New England should look to lean more on its receivers which could turn this game into a shootout. With the regular season drawing nearer, there’s a greater possibility of starters seeing snaps as well. Raiders receivers Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow were slicing up Pats defensive backs in 1-on-1 drills, and both have a great chance of scoring a touchdown if they see the field.
