Panthers vs. Eagles Prediction: Week 6 Odds, Picks & Best Bet

My best Panthers vs. Eagles prediction focuses on how the absence of Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley will impact this game. Although the Panthers allow the fourth-most yards per game, I explain why the Eagles' offense is too depleted to have any real success in Week 6.
The Panthers are favored by 3.5 points ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The game will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Panthers vs. Eagles prediction & best bet
Panthers -3.5 (+100 via FanDuel)
Even with Hurts healthy, the Eagles ranked 30th in yards per game (262.2) and 29th in points per game (18.4). Last week, the Eagles rushed for just 22 yards on 18 carries against the Jaguars, and with Barkley, Hurts, and Will Shipley all out, I have no faith in the Eagles running the ball, even against the Panthers' 31st-ranked run defense.
Tanner McKee will start at quarterback, and he's shown some promise in his career. Two years ago, he threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns as he led the Eagles to a 20-13 win over the Giants. However, in his only start last season, he completed just 52.5% of his passes for 241 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
📡 SBR Edge: Panthers' pass defense can limit damage
The Panthers gave up a lot of yards to both Caleb Williams and Jared Goff. However, they held Deshaun Watson and Cooper Rush to 144 passing yards or fewer, which indicates the league's 22nd-ranked pass defense isn't as bad as the numbers suggest.
Young and Hubbard are too much for the Eagles' defense
Led by Bryce Young, the Panthers are averaging 301.3 passing yards per game, the second-most in the league. Young, who threw for 200 or more yards in just five games last season, has thrown for at least 287 yards in each of his first four games. In his last start, he completed 70.7% of his passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns.
I don't expect Young to struggle much in this matchup, as the Eagles are allowing the seventh-most passing yards per game. But if Young struggles, the Eagles rank 20th in rushing yards allowed per game. That means that Chuba Hubbard, who is averaging 5.0 yards per carry and has rushed for 204 yards in his last two games combined, should have plenty of room to run.
Score prediction: Panthers 24, Eagles 13
