Jets vs. Chiefs Prediction: Week 9 Odds, Picks & Best Bet (Nov. 8)
Last Updated: November 7, 2026 1:00 PM EST • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
My best Jets vs. Chiefs prediction highlights why the Chiefs are being overvalued by oddsmakers in this matchup. The Jets' defense matches up well with the Chiefs' offense, and with Breece Hall finally returning from injury, the Jets' rushing attack is easily one of the best the Chiefs have faced all season.
The Chiefs are favored by 9.5 points ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. The game will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Jets vs. Chiefs prediction & best bet
Jets +9.5 (-105 via bet365)
Despite trips to Detroit and New England and a home game against the Packers, the Jets' only loss by more than seven points came by 11 in a road game against the Bears. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have lost back-to-back games and have three-point wins over the Colts and Raiders this year.
The Jets are allowing just 5.0 yards per play, which ranks eighth-best in the league. Though the Chiefs are averaging 6.3 yards per play, which is the third-best mark in the league, they're averaging just 5.4 yards per play over their last two games.
The Chiefs are allowing just 3.5 yards per carry, which is tied for the best mark in the league. Yet, a lot of this success comes from facing just one offense that ranks higher than 16th in rushing yards per game. While the Jets rank 21st, they're getting Hall back this week. He'll join Braelon Allen, who has rushed for at least 100 yards in three of his last four games.
📡 SBR Edge: Chiefs have penalty issues
When the Jets step on the field, they're normally at a disadvantage when it comes to penalties. However, the Chiefs are one of the few teams in the league averaging more penalty yards per game (66.3) than the Jets. That number jumps up to 78.3 yards per game in home games for the Chiefs, while the Jets are averaging just 47.3 penalty yards in road contests.
Can the Jets slow down Walker?
Kenneth Walker III started the year by rushing for over 100 yards in four of his first five games. However, he's rushed for fewer than 70 yards in each of his last two games, averaging just 3.0 yards per carry during that stretch.
The Jets rank 21st in run defense, allowing 123.6 rushing yards per game. However, the Jets rank 14th in yards allowed per carry, giving up just 4.0 yards per attempt. That's significantly better than the 4.5 yards per carry the Broncos allow, and they held Walker to 3.3 yards per carry last week.
If the Jets can keep Walker in check, then the matchup becomes strength vs. strength, as the Chiefs rank eighth in passing yards per game (249.0) and passing yards per attempt (7.7), and the Jets rank fifth in passing yards allowed per game (194.0) and 14th in passing yards allowed per attempt (6.4). Based on those averages, I think the Chiefs will move the ball somewhat effectively, but not well enough to win by double digits.
