Miami vs. Notre Dame Same Game Parlay: SGP Picks for Nov. 7

Malachi Toney’s absence could loom large for the Hurricanes offensively against a top-flight Notre Dame defense.

My Miami vs. Notre Dame same-game parlay sees trouble on the horizon for No. 1 Miami as the Hurricanes come into this game without star wide receiver Malachi Toney due to a high-ankle sprain. Perhaps agitated by its initial CFP ranking, No. 11 Notre Dame should fire on all cylinders at home in this prove-it opportunity.

The action kicks off from Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind., Saturday at 7:30 ET (NBC). Notre Dame is favored by 7.5 points as part of our College Football predictions.

Best Miami vs. Notre Dame SGP & parlay picks

Notre Dame -7.5 (-102)

While Notre Dame’s overall performance against the spread this season has underwhelmed (4-4 ATS), the Irish are a solid 2-1 ATS at home. Miami is 2-2 against the spread in road games and will be without its best player offensively in Malachi Toney.

Notre Dame ranks third in the nation in both adjusted offensive and defensive efficiencies, while holding opponents to just 13.4 points per game (t-3rd in FBS). With Miami’s defensive efficiency lagging behind at 33rd and Toney’s absence hindering Miami’s top-ranked offense I see Notre Dame pulling away in the second half.

Darian Mensah Under 223.5 passing yards (-114)

Notre Dame’s dominant defense allows just 150.9 passing yards per game. Even in the loss the Irish took at BYU, the Irish gave up only 224 passing yards to Bear Bachmeier.

That’s the exact mark Darian Mensah will need to reach on the road to clear his passing line at FanDuel, but I expect some growing pains as he adjusts to life without his top target, who consistently boosted Mensah’s numbers with yards after the catch.

Mensah has only fallen short of this line once this season, but I think it happens again in this spot.

CJ Carr Over 245.5 passing yards (-114)

CJ Carr has racked up Over 245.5 passing yards just twice on the season, but Miami is the perfect matchup in which to do it again. The Hurricanes have the top-ranked run defense in the nation, allowing just 64.8 yards per game on the road.

But Miami is a pass funnel defense, ranking 128th in FBS in yards allowed per game through the air (277.9). Four straight opposing QBs have sailed Over this passing yardage total against Miami.
