My best Jaguars vs. Bengals prediction focuses on the offenses for both teams. At 51.5 points, this game has the highest posted total of Week 4. Below, I explain why I agree with oddsmakers that Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow are going to find themselves in a shootout.
The Bengals are favored by 2.5 points ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET game at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. The game will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

💰 Jaguars vs. Bengals prediction & best bet
Over 51.5 (-102 via DraftKings)
Allowing just 12.0 points per game, the Jaguars currently have the top scoring defense in the league. However, all three of their opponents rank in the bottom 12 in the league in scoring. The Bengals are averaging 26.7 points per game, scoring at least 27 in two of three contests.
While the Bengals did a great job against the Texans, holding them to just six points, they've allowed at least 27 points in their other two games. The Jaguars are averaging 27.3 points per game. They scored 34 against the Browns and 35 last week against the Patriots. In each contest, they looked capable of putting even more points on the board, but with each game a blowout early in the second half, the offense backed off.
📡 SBR Edge: Pass-first Bengals
The Jaguars have been dominant against the run this season, allowing just 91.3 yards per game and 3.6 yards per carry. However, that strength won't matter in this game, as the Bengals are a pass-first team with the sixth-fewest rushing attempts this season.
Both passing attacks should dominate
Despite facing Deshaun Watson and two struggling quarterbacks in Drake Maye and Bo Nix, the Jaguars are still allowing the ninth-most passing yards per game. I expect the Jaguars' defense to struggle against Burrow, who threw for 282 yards last week and has thrown six touchdowns and just one interception this season.
Lawrence and his offense should have no trouble moving the ball either. The Bengals have the fifth-worst pass defense in the league, allowing 260 yards per game. While the Jaguars are averaging just 195 passing yards per game, that's simply an issue of volume. The Jaguars are averaging 7.6 yards per attempt, which ranks ninth-best in the league.
Score prediction: Bengals 31 Jaguars 28
