2022 Indianapolis Colts Team Futures Odds, Picks and Preview: Super Bowl, Win Total and Playoff Predictions

The Indianapolis Colts became the butt of many jokes when they crashed and burned in Week 18 last season with a playoff spot on the line. However, after an offseason that featured a quarterback upgrade and some nice additions on defense, optimism is high in Indianapolis ahead of the 2022 NFL season. Here are our Colts odds, picks, and preview for the upcoming campaign.
Last year, the Colts won eight of 10 games overall spanning from mid-October through Christmas Night. Unfortunately, the positive vibes and postseason aspirations fell apart in a brutal fashion as the Colts went on to lose each of their final two regular-season games. A 9-8 record left them on the outside of the playoffs looking in.
The late-season collapse naturally led to some offseason changes in the Hoosier State. The Colts traded for veteran Matt Ryan in a quarterback maneuver that can only be classified as an upgrade. With plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, especially in the trenches, Indianapolis could very well emerge as a sleeper in the AFC this season.
Below, we preview the 2022 NFL season for the Indianapolis Colts with a look at their team futures odds and top picks (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, BetRivers)

Colts to win Super Bowl LVII (+2200)
Unfortunately, premium NFL betting market value on the Colts to win the Super Bowl has already dried up. However, a preseason wager at 22-1 for Indianapolis to go all the way this year is still worthy of consideration. Considering that the Colts begin the season with two very winnable games against Houston and Jacksonville, the team's stock is more likely to rise than dip out of the gates.
From a personnel standpoint, the Colts have the makings of a championship-caliber team. After getting harassed on every other drop-back last year in Atlanta, Ryan will now find himself playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the league. Of course, he will also benefit from the threat of a power run game as Jonathan Taylor is back for another run at the 2,000-yard rushing mark.
The Colts only got better defensively in the NFL offseason as well. They traded for pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue and also signed superstar corner Stephon Gilmore in free agency. Both moves flew quietly under the radar. The same can be said for the outlook on the upcoming Colts' season in general, aside from the sharper betting circles. If their stalwarts along both lines can stay healthy, Indy has the goods to battle with the best of the bunch in the AFC.

AFC South Division Exact Order: 1st Colts/2nd Titans/3rd Jaguars/4th Texans (+250)
One major benefit that the Colts have going for them is that they play in the AFC South. Even last year, many viewed the division as a two-team race between Indianapolis and Tennessee. Thanks in part to wins in both head-to-head matchups between them, the Titans ultimately went on to capture the division crown.
It seems reasonable to expect a different outcome within the AFC South in 2022. While the Colts quietly got better on both sides of the ball in the offseason, the Titans lost some key pieces. Of course, no departure was more notable than the draft-night trade of top receiver, A.J. Brown. With so much uncertainty revolving around the Titans' outlook on offense, the Colts enter the year as the more complete team.
When it comes to the bottom half of the division finishing order, the Jaguars get the nod over the Texans when it comes to filling out the bottom two spots. New Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson figures to instill a positive culture right away in Duval. With young talent starting to accumulate on both sides of the ball, the Jags are a step ahead of a Houston team that is in complete disarray following the Deshaun Watson saga.
Pierce to win Offensive Rookie of the Year (+4000)
The primary hurdle that Frank Reich's coaching staff will need to address is the lack of reliable pass-catchers on offense. Oft-injured veteran T.Y. Hilton was not brought back for the 2022 season. That leaves Michael Pittman Jr. and another injury-prone talent in Parris Campbell atop the depth chart.
Given the lack of weapons in the passing game, rookie second-round draftee Alec Pierce will be a starter from the onset of his NFL career. Knowing that defenses will be keying in on Taylor and the Colts' rushing attack more heavily this season, there is a real chance things could open up in the passing game. With a savvy veteran QB throwing in his direction, Pierce could very well have a breakout rookie season.
Taking all of this into consideration, a 40-1 OROTY ticket on Pierce is worth a look. This sentiment only becomes more profound when one considers the value that this FanDuel price holds compared to other sportsbooks in the market.
