The first Sunday Night Football of the 2026 season will feature a fierce NFC East rivalry as the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants meet, and we’ve got you covered with our Cowboys vs. Giants expert picks. Dallas is a slim 2.5-point favorite ahead of the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff at MetLife Stadium (NBC).

Most of our experts are backing the Cowboys to get the job done in primetime, but one believes the Giants can make this contest interesting on home turf.

Expert Pick
Quinn Allen Cowboys -2.5
LJ Blut Giants +2.5
Corey Scott Cowboys -2.5
C Jackson Cowart Cowboys -2.5

Quinn Allen's pick: Cowboys -2.5

The Cowboys may have had a quiet offseason offensively, but this unit still has all the talent to cause problems for the Giants in primetime. Dak Prescott has historically dominated New York, going 14-3 in his career against the division rival, and with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens at his disposal, Dallas has also covered this number in four of the last five meetings. Take the Cowboys.

LJ Blut's pick: Giants +2.5

The Giants are the side to back at +2.5 against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Dallas enters the matchup with a banged-up offensive line, most notably losing starting left guard Tyler Smith for four to six weeks after thumb surgery. That creates an opportunity for the Giants’ pass rush to generate pressure and disrupt Prescott. New York also enters the game relatively healthy, with Malik Nabers and Andrew Thomas practicing fully. The Giants should keep this game within a field goal.

Corey Scott's pick: Cowboys -2.5

The Cowboys have had a quiet offseason - which is odd for a Jerry Jones team - and that makes me optimistic about Dallas moving forward. Continuity should be a strength for them this season with Brian Schottenheimer and Dak Prescott running the offense, while the Giants might start slowly under new coach John Harbaugh.

C Jackson Cowart's pick: Cowboys -2.5

The offseason hype machine has focused so heavily on the Giants this offseason that America's Team is somehow being overlooked heading into 2026. The Cowboys quietly have one of the best coaching trios in football with Brian Schottenheimer, Klayton Adams, and Christian Parker dialing up plays — I'm skeptical that John Harbaugh's staff will have the right plan to overcome the talent gap tonight.
