Packers -1.5 (-115)

The Packers are an appealing play to cover -1.5 against the Steelers in Thursday's preseason opener. Green Bay is expected to give Jordan Love meaningful playing time, providing a major advantage against a Pittsburgh team whose quarterback situation remains unsettled. Aaron Rodgers has indicated he is unlikely to play, while Green Bay's starters should have an opportunity to establish a rhythm early.

The Packers have also been getting strong competition from their new-look defense throughout training camp. With Love leading the offense and MarShawn Lloyd expected to see opportunities with Josh Jacobs sidelined, Green Bay has enough starting talent to build an early lead and cover the short road spread.

Jets -5.5 (-110)

The Jets are worth backing at -5.5 against the Buccaneers in Preseason Week 1. New York enters this matchup with plenty of momentum after a competitive joint practice with Tampa Bay, where the Jets defense created turnovers and Garrett Wilson delivered a standout touchdown.

While preseason results are heavily influenced by depth, the Jets should benefit from playing at home and having several players fighting for roster spots. Tampa Bay also has questions surrounding its roster and offensive consistency heading into the opener. With the Jets' defense showing encouraging signs and their depth providing an advantage late, New York should win comfortably and cover the short spread.

Giants +1.5 (-110)

The Giants are an appealing play at +1.5 against the Vikings in Preseason Week 1. New York has generated positive buzz throughout training camp under new head coach John Harbaugh, with the team showing improved discipline and physicality on both sides of the ball.

Jaxson Dart has also returned to practice and should benefit from valuable preseason reps as he continues developing. Meanwhile, preseason games often come down to depth, and the Giants have several young players competing aggressively for roster spots. With home-field advantage at MetLife Stadium and a motivated roster, New York has a strong chance to keep this game within a field goal and cover the +1.5 spread.
