My Thunder vs. Mavericks prediction targets a Thunder side that will be missing multiple key starters.

Both teams will be short-handed tonight, but my Thunder vs. Mavericks prediction targets the side that remains overrated despite so many key injuries.

Tipoff from American Airlines Center in Dallas is set for 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN), with the Thunder entering as a 6.5-point betting favorite. The total is set at 228.5.

Thunder vs. Mavericks best bet

Mavericks +6.5 (-110 via Hard Rock Bet)

The Thunder will potentially be without three of their top four scorers tonight, as Ajay Mitchell (16.0 PPG) is questionable, while Jalen Williams (13.7 PPG) and Chet Holmgren (12.0 PPG) are out.

With so little scoring available for Oklahoma City, I have a hard time getting its line to -6.5. Yes, Kyrie Irving and Naji Marshall are both questionable for the Mavericks, but Dallas still upset the Heat in Miami in its last game despite Marshall being out and Irving posting a -6 plus-minus.

Play to: +5.5 (-104)

Score prediction: Thunder 117, Mavericks 112

Thunder vs. Mavericks player props

Isaiah Hartenstein to record a double-double (+210 via BetMGM)

No Holmgren for the Thunder means Isaiah Hartenstein will likely play more minutes.

He recorded 15 points and 13 rebounds in his last game, when Holmgren was also out, as well as 12 points and 12 rebounds in the game prior while starting alongside Holmgren. If Mitchell is ruled out tonight, Hartenstein will also likely play a larger role in the offense than he has in previous games.

The Mavericks are a good matchup for Overs on Hartenstein, as they lack elite rebounding, with 6-foot-7 P.J. Washington leading the team at 7.5 rebounds per game.

Play to: +199

Cooper Flagg Over 24.5 points (+100 via Caesars)

While the Thunder ranked first in defensive rating last season, they're not the same without Holmgren and Williams in the starting lineup.

Holmgren finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting last season, while Williams was selected to the All-Defensive second team the last time he played more than half a season.

Cooper Flagg shouldn't see much resistance tonight with so many injuries on the Thunder. He has attempted 17 or more shots in two of his three games this season - he played just 17 minutes in the outlier - and will get even more touches tonight if Irving is ruled out.

Play to: Over 25.5 (+117)
