Raptors Over 107.5 (-115) - McLaren

The Raptors topped 107.5 points in each of their last two games, and in three of five games to open the season. They finish a four-game homestand on Friday against the Orlando Magic. The Magic are last in the NBA with a 116.3 defensive rating. Both teams had Thursday off, so the defensive effort should be there on both sides; however, effort isn’t the sole problem for Orlando. The Magic are 24th in the league with an opponent field goal percentage of 46.9 and a 3-point percentage of 37.0. The inefficient Raptors should get a boost on Friday while looking to head back on the road at 3-3.

Hornets Over 108.5 (-115) - Rainman

The Over is 4-1 in Hornet games this year because the team is playing at a vastly higher tempo than it did last year, and oddsmakers have yet to adjust for this change in pace. Tempo is crucial because it means more possessions and therefore more scoring opportunities.

Allen Over 9.5 rebounds (-140) - McLaren

This is more expensive than I usually seek out in NBA player prop picks but the odds are accurately indicative of the safety of this one hitting. Allen is averaging 9.2 rebounds per game but has single-game highs of 14 and 16 rebounds in two of his last three games. The Lakers are 28th in the NBA with 41.7 total rebounds per 100 possessions, as well as 25th in offensive rebounding rate and 27th in defensive rebounding rate. Lakers PF Anthony Davis (knee) is expected to return to the lineup on Friday. While he’s averaging 11.6 rebounds per game and 38.0 minutes per game, Allen should be able to get some court time without him as the Lakers play for the third time in four nights.

Anthony Under 15.5 points (+105) - Rainman

Anthony exceeded 15 points in two of five games. In one of those games, the Magic faced a Hornets team whose higher tempo helped create a higher-scoring game. In the other game, Anthony was anomalously strong from behind the 3-point arc and hit five of nine attempts. Neither circumstance will arise Friday, as Toronto, like Orlando, likes to play slow. Also, Anthony is is shooting just 31.4 percent from 3-point range for the season.
