Knicks coach Mike Brown - who was the Warriors’ associate head coach from 2016 to 2022 - has Towns playing a Draymond Green-style brand of basketball, where the offense runs through a big.

Because of that, Towns is averaging 6.7 potential assists per game in the postseason and has cashed this prop in nine of his 10 outings since the Knicks lost back-to-back games to the Hawks in the first round.

For our purposes in an elimination game, we can throw out Mitchell’s stats from this series. The last time Cleveland faced elimination - Game 7 in the conference semifinals - Mitchell had a team-high 22 shot attempts (Allen had the second-most with 14).

The Cavaliers’ best chance of staying alive in this series is for Mitchell to increase his usage rate, and the onus will fall on him to show up in a big spot, not the role players. Mitchell Over 26.5 points is -115 at BetMGM, but I'd play this up to -135 on the best sports betting apps.

With such a short spread, it’s very possible for Mitchell to go over his points while the Knicks cover. In a potential elimination game, I expect the Knicks to continue with a similar game plan, since it has helped them build a 3–0 lead in the series. I also expect the Cavaliers to play with more desperation, meaning high-usage players like Mitchell and James Harden should be more aggressive scorers. I doubt the Knicks will dramatically change their game plan as they try to complete the sweep, and it’s unlikely the Cavaliers will lean on their role players in a win-or-go-home situation.
