It’s not time to start fading the Phoenix Suns or their best player. Can the Chicago Bulls slow down the red-hot Western Conference juggernauts? Find out with our Bulls-Suns picks.

The Suns are on some kind of run right now, winning five straight games heading into Wednesday. They’ve covered in just three of them, but it’s hard to blame this team given it’s normally laying a large number of points.

Chicago has won and covered in three of its last four and is just a couple of days removed from an impressive upset of the Utah Jazz as the underdog on Monday.

Here are our top picks for the NBA matchup between the Bulls and Suns (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, and PointsBet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Bulls vs. Suns Odds

Bulls vs. Suns Odds Analysis

The line opened up at Suns -5 and has quickly moved in their favor. You’ll have to lay at least 5.5 points to back the home team at all shops, and PointsBet has even moved the number to 6. As a result, that’s where you’ll find the best deal on Chicago at the price of -107, while the spread of 5.5 is available at -110 everywhere else.

A commanding 68% of spread tickets on this game have come in on the Suns while an even more robust 76% of the money has landed on Phoenix.

There’s a similar story with the total, with 75% of the tickets and 86% of the money on the Over, which opened at 224 and has flown higher. FanDuel will offer you the Over at 227 points for the price of -106 while you can back the Under 227.5 at -107 odds with PointsBet.

Bulls vs. Suns ATS Pick

Bulls -5.5 (-110) ★★★★

The injury list is long for the Bulls, but it’s not all that scary. Alex Caruso, Ayo Dosunmu, and Goran Dragic are all on there, but just they’re all listed as probable. Phoenix is still without Cam Johnson and Chris Paul.

Without Paul, the Suns are 7-3 overall and 6-4 against the spread. They had an identical record straight-up and ATS with Paul. While the splits would suggest he’s certainly a valuable piece, the fact is that Phoenix continues to be a machine without its fearless leader.

One thing Phoenix does not like to do is shoot inside of 10 feet, ranking third-last in shot frequency in that area. That’s tough news for the Bulls, who have played excellent defense inside of 10 feet, allowing just 58.6% on guarded looks. They’re fourth-worst against guarded threes.

That’s my biggest edge here; Phoenix is an incredibly three-happy team, and the Bulls’ biggest weakness lies on the 3-point line. On top of that, their strength lies in the frontcourt. This will be a miserable night for Chicago.

Bulls vs. Suns O/U Pick

Over 227 (-106) ★★★★

I’m following the money here. For starters, as I noted above, the Bulls can’t defend the three and the Suns can really shoot the ball. In addition to that, this is actually a pace-up game for the Suns with the Bulls ranking 11th in that regard.

Chicago’s got a top-10 defense, but the Suns should have no problem sitting back and shooting over the top. Defensive rating also doesn’t matter as much when we’re talking about a game that should have plenty of possessions; there should still be enough trips down the floor to get us to this number.

Phoenix may be ranked in the bottom third of the league in pace but it’s hit a 104.5 and 109 pace rating in two of its last four games. There’s precedent here for a high-scoring affair.

Bulls vs. Suns Prop Pick

Booker Over 27.5 points (-115) ★★★★

Pace-up game? White-hot scorer? Sign me up. In those two games with the fast pace mentioned above, Booker shot the ball 24 and 28 times, respectively. In the most recent affair, he posted a whopping 41 points.

Booker has gone Over 27 points on nine occasions, and I like him to do that again here.

An encouraging note is that Booker has averaged 29.3 points over the last four games despite shooting just 23.1% from three. He's ice-cold from the perimeter and still manages to fill up the scoring column.

I expect his shooting will turn around given the weak state of Chicago’s 3-point defense.
